If you are having a lengthy delay in publishing, please add the name of your story and when submitted here.

You can talk to other authors who have experienced problems and get the benefit of what has worked for them here.

Absent any formal feedback from the site, the best available advice is that if you have been waiting over one or two weeks with no ‘sent back’ message, then pull and resubmit (possibly with the first submission being deleted).

This is not official advice, just based on what has worked for multiple people posting here and elsewhere.

So, what worked for me was trying to publish another story, additionally to the one stuck in limbo. That helped the first one getting published alongside the second one.

Good idea. I might submit part 3 tomorrow.

I am willing to take the risk to have part 3 published before part 2 which would suck.

I tried that also. The newer story was published in the usual time frame, in fact, a little on the fast end of the usual time frame. The other story remains stuck in Pending.

I guess there are not magic recipes.

I cannot have part 3 published before part 2 so I won't try that trick

I edited a few words in the document and resubmitted. Still waiting.
Well, this sounds like you did the exact thing which makes pending start all over at the beginning. If that's true, then it doesn't seem surprising at all that it's taking a long time.

What was the date when you actually first submitted it?

What does the "Submitted on" date say now? Does it match?

Does it now say the date it was when you made the edit you referred to?

Altering a submission while it's Pending moves it to the back of the line, as if you never submitted it at all until submitting the edit.

It's hard to know when you've waited long enough, but if you're not a new writer, a week, otherwise, I'd say two weeks.
@Literotica did in fact state a specific time frame: Look here for the reference to "15 days."

Now, they don't say "after 15 days delete it and resubmit it," but it is something of a setting-of-expectations.

I mean, for that matter, the "72 hours" is also something of a setting-of-expectations too, but the message kind of indicates that after 72 hours what you should do is cross your T's and dot your I's and make sure you haven't made one of the mistakes in the checklist of pitfalls they provided.

I originally submitted the 11 or 12th. The following day the date changed to show the submission was a day later than I did.
I waited for 8 days and edited and resubmitted. Then today after waiting 8 or 9 days, I edited the title and resubmitted.
The date is as off today. I did send a message to the mods about the issue. I did not delete and resubmit because I did not know how. Now I do and if by the weekend, it is still pending I will delete it and resubmit.

I am not sure what else to do

Ah, I see, you made the edit today. Then I was wrong and it didn't have anything to do with the long wait you have already endured

I don't know @EmilyMiller if things will get fixed. It may have been a month since I posted my story, and it is still pending. Someone said to resubmit it and I did, but it is still in limbo.
The part 1, 2, and 3 easily got approved but the 4,5,6 are stuck, I have written part 7 but there is no point posting it, when 4,5,6 are not live.

This is depressing, are their any other website that take submission?

The only reason I came to this platform, and started writing sex was because:
A. I wanted to.
B: They have 10 million traffic

The closest competitor is lushstories with 1 million traffic.
Rest of the competitors are holding 1% to 5% of market share, and they have bad UI.

I'm gonna stay here for a while, maybe see, if in next 10 day or so I don't get the approval. I'm taking my story down, and posting it on Lush. I like Lit, I have been its reader for a while, and the several level of gatekeeping had made them control the quality of stories around here, but if the gatekeeping is taking that level of time then there is an issue.

I gotta tell you, bars can never hold the voices of prisoners. I won't suggest anything to anyone, this is my shit, and I gonna take it to a different bar.

Can we publish on both sites, or do they require exclusivity? I was thinking about leaving my stories pending here, but submitting them on lush as well. Since I'm new here, I don't know if this is possible.

Literotica doesn’t require exclusivity.

At this stage, I’d recommend deleting the stories (making sure you have the text in a word processor or whatever) and submitting clean new stories. It’s not guaranteed to work, but it seems you are stuck.

Technically speaking, this sort of thing create plagiarism issues on site, so if they check plagiarism then it will be flagged by the system. However, you hold all the rights of your content, and you can publish it on any site, so you might have to verify your ownership to the other site if they say it is plagiarized.

The problem is most of the writer's content here are pending, they are not sent back issues, or Plag issue, or AI issue, they are pending. And nobody is sure here why their stories are pending, if it is AI then flag it, if it is plag then flag it, but sitting ducks isn't gonna fix issues right.

Sorry for the language!
I guess i am just frustrated.

I understand. There appears to be a glitch in the submission process which leads to stories falling into a pending black hole.

Resubmitting / deleting and resubmitting has worked for some people (me included).

The message to you was, you might be able to get it out of pending by deleting it and starting over with a new submission of the same material. Nobody's saying "fix it," they're saying "get it unstuck."
