Charlie Kirk would still be alive if we had an assault weapon ban in place.

And also to take it away.

You somehow have no issue with one side and yet ignore the other.

Our country was founded by people who took up arms to overthrow a king and to secure their liberty.

Sorry you missed this in the course of your public school education.

Yep..history is fun.

We have a history of lots of people having their poverty cut short forcefully by someone with a gun who wasn't responsible enough to own one.

Sorry you missed this in the course of your public school education.
I know history.
You ignore quite a bit of it because guns.

If you really tried, I think you could come up with a stupider response.
But I'm probably overestimating you.
Cause guns to kill people, people kill people. Has NOTHING to do with the gun, so a brick could do it too.

Thoughts and prayers since you got no other answers.

So that more assault weapons will exist? Genius. The more you bring attention to something and make it illegal, the more people will want and acquire it. Use your brain man.
That is simply untrue. I know some idiot lied to you when you were young but we do not see fully automatic weapons very often. I'm sure if I spent a few hours just digging I could find examples of people using grenades or other easily concealed explosives but it certainly isn't common. The reality of the situation is that criminals in America are relatively rare all things considered. The majority of the murders in the nation are crimes of passion. There was no "planning" involved. You know how on *insert police drama here* when a woman is killed the very first thing they do is look into the husband or boyfriend? Its because statistically its going to be that guy. He lost his shit and before he had time to calm down she was dead. This isn't the Wild West (Which wasn't even the Wild West) where people are constantly arming up to kill people.

I know like most conservatives you live in a comic book world and every major city is basically Gotham City but that's not reality.

Nor have they been forced to use them in self defense.
I feel better safe so I won’t be sorry.

A few thousand die every year so your argument is that they could have been safe if they had been armed. However you're not ARMED if you're not armed. A gun in your safe, while your ammo is in a separate safe is not armed. A weapon you can't grab faster than someone can cross a room is not 'armed'. So I highly doubt the majority of these women would still be alive if they personally owned the gun. Given its almost always the significant other there was a weapon in the house. That was the fucking problem.

A woman being armed gives her a vastly better chance at self defense against a man (or anyone), whether he is armed or not.
I agree. But you're not ARMED if the weapon is not in your hand physically.

I have zero objection to firearm owners deciding not to carry, or vice versa.

While I don't think having people carry is wise. I think there is a reason why the NRA is a 'Firearm Free'. the RNC. 'Firearm free'. Charlie Kirk Memorial. 'Firearm free.' It seems pretty obvious that the powers that be claim one thing and practice something else.

Why not?

When I drive everyday, the only thing stopping complete strangers plowing thousands of pounds of metal into my face at highway speeds is their self restraint, self preservation and paint markings on the road. Not to mention far more people are killed by vehicles than guns.

Ah, the old pivot to "car deaths vs. gun deaths".
An NRA staples since the 1990s.
Sad.

Comparing guns to cars is stupid on every level. How many of those drivers know you personally?

Why? Cars are much more dangerous than guns when you see the irrefutable death statistics.
How many of those drivers know you personally?
Effectively zero. And that's my point. I'm surrounded every day by countless strangers operating very dangerous technology that kills a lot more people than guns.

I don't see the anti gun brigade panicking about the availability and access to vehicles.
