I completely agree with what you say, and good for you for wanting to do more
You obviously have extra opportunity being on campus, hopefully plenty of clubs focused on inclusion, which is half of the battle - but obviously risks too in the current climate…

Beyond what you’ll have there, some of the following might be useful - and you could always try to become a lead if there isn’t one

News Literacy Project has a useful training kit on recognizing disinformation, which could be useful to help your students

Right to be - has a newsletter, campaigns and training/ resources

Not in our town - guidance and resources on staying safe while responding actively

Stop the Hate has resources and speakers to ‘train the trainers’

I’m not sure if that’s useful or not, let me know if you were after something different

I support your idea but this is well-intended but dangerous notion, kind of like "hate speech" - what is "political violence"? Was the Revolutionary War which is how the USA came to be, political violence? Is violence against a tyrannical authoritarian government "political violence"?

We’re all living on earth in a violent times with people like presidents or prime ministers from Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, Pakistan, India, Israel and in all continents and even frankly Mr Trump with violent reactions… more and more people in more and more countries want to close their frontieres, don’t want to understand or even speak to « the stranger » or people of differents religions (or without religion). And i don’t speak of free sexuality beetween adults and the way it is understood (or not) by many. In the US your freedom of speech tolerates opinions that will be considered as outrageous, violents, racists and forbidden in all european countries…
As a european, it’s also weird and unbelievable to see that in the Us it is maybe easier to buy a gun than to have a bank account !
As long as you will consider that everybody may have a weapon, you must admit the risk that some will use it against people who don’t think like them…
I hope you will excuse my poor english and i don’t have a ready made solution to your problems of political violence…
