LilKitKat's Second Cumming Thread 💦

Natalia seems good and she has a heck of a stroy, I just dont care for her voice and looks, but thats just me haha.
3 episodes are out, seen 2.
I am in the middle of like 8 or 9 shows now, tough to manage them all!
Ok, so you just haven't seen the newest one. Sounds like once you watch it, you'll be in line with us anyways.
I can understand what your saying about Natalia... Also, I know it what it's like to juggle many shows lol

Yeah, that's a fair few. Not even going to try and list all the shows I watch lol
Did watch the newest episode of Only Murders in the Building today. However, most of today has just been watching football, both the actual football and American football.
Back to work tomorrow, so just enjoying my lazy Sunday

Starting Murakami-recommendations on what to read first- Kafka on the Shore or the Windup Bird Chronicles? Was leaning towards Kafka…

I think both are great. If you have not EVER read any Murakami, you have to understand that most of his books have a little..."weirdness" to them. Like...one chatracter may be able to see spirits for example, or more often, travel to another dimension/parallel universe/subconscious/back in time type of stuff. Its usually not in the entire book or the MAIN plot per se, but you have to be able to roll with that.

There are other common elements across many of his books like a focus on jazz and/or classical music, cats, Cutty Sark, descriptions of women that invariably will tell you if the character is busty or not (not usually a problem for most male readers haha)...and perhaps a very awkward sex scene.

That all said...Kafka is fantastic. I loved it. It doesnt have too much "fantastical" elements to it, but there are definitely some, some of which is very humorous, and some is definitely more serious and/or melancholy.
Its a great one.

If you want basically NO mystical stuff, Norwegian Wood is perhaps one to read and only has one sscene in the book that I found to be...unnecessary/out of place, but it has nothing to do with mysticism or whatever.

And then my favorite of his is likely 1Q84, and that has more mystical shit for sure, and its a much longer book, and has one super weird chapter, but I fucking loved that book.

Ty! So helpful-I think I’m going to do Kafka first-IQ84 is also on my list. I’m cool with weirdness and fantastical elements. I feel like Mukakami is probably best experienced reading the actual book and I’ve become overly skewed towards the convenience of audio books the past few years.

Happen to have copies of all of three of these on hand (raised kids with excellent literary taste) so looking forward to spending time with each-appreciate the guidance of where to start. 🥰

Ill go through comments and messages in a min but holy hell

1. CRAZY freakin F1 Quali...far too many red flags/accidents sheesh

2. 3rd date was a surprise hit. She surprised me and picked me up and took me to the Dodgers game! Final Kershaw home game as SP (regular season). Wow! Crazy!
That's a great date for any baseball fan.

They often start off a bit slow...and then once yer in, its got you and you cant wait to read more.
I dont "believe" in audio books. I know they can be great, dont get me wrong, but I dont like someone reading them aloud as it changes the perception of how I think about a character...his/her voice or sarcasm or emphasis on things, how they may sound...and in some cases, how words/names are even pronounced. I also like to go at my own pace. I usually read quickly, but sometimes I like to re-read a sentence or two while reading cuz I am like "wait...wut?".

Also Norwegian Wood isnt in my top 3 of his, but its a very enjoyable read. Its a bit more..."historical" or..."realistic" than his others.

I havent read one I have disliked yet, though Wild Sheep Chase and Colorless Tsukuru are lower on the list and still enjoyed them both for sure.
1Q84, Wind Up Bird Chronicle, Kafka on the Shore are my top 3.
I need to read Hard Boiled next. And Elephant Vanishes, and Dance Dance Dance.
And I have about 20 other books to read easily.
UGH.

Guess I better get off Lit and go read!

Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend! Back to marching to the drumbeat of of the workweek. Lol

Yes. Forza Ferrari...I am half Italian, lived there for several years, father's side is pretty much all there, so...its in my blood.
Ah so you enjoy suffering and the pain of never realising your true potential? 😂 though that makes sense.. feel like supporting anyone else with your background would be sacrilegious 😳

I am glad Sainz/Williams made podium this weekend.
Lando missed a golden opportunity after THREE Piastri mistakes this weekend, albeit not sure if he would have won but likely a podium in normal circumstances.
Happy to see a few diff drivers in the top, albeit not having Charles there hurts.
In a small way I hope Max passes Piastri and Lando for the title.
