SWMBO is still recovering, so went and watched 24 Hour Party People…how have I never heard of this film?

I read Marr’s book and he talks about the Hacienda quite a bit. This kind of puts that timeline in perspective. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Quite a few pages behind today. Rearranging the garage and cleaning is taking up most of the weekend. That and two truckloads of spare parts for an old car into the other garage. Not sure what that stuff is worth, but it's getting saved for now. There appears to be three of everything there, so it looks like three separate cars were torn down as spare parts for 1 car. But at 95 years old, some parts aren't as easy to find anymore. Three clutches are probably worth hanging on to...

My better half has been canning apple sauce. No room in the freezer anymore, so it goes in the pantry. Apparently the plan is for 4 more gallons canned. We're through the first two varieties of apples we have, with 4 more to go.

I know most humans don't get excited about turkey bacon. Decades ago when I had 2 kitties, they wen't full berzerker when I cooked it. Turkey bacon had to be eaten standing up. Even that wasn't a guarantee they wouldn't try to climb you to get a tasty bite... of the bacon

Yes…took me bout 20 mins or so to get the feel of what they were doing. Loved the live cuts of the bands mixed with the film actors. Learned a lot about that original Sex Pistols show…have always heard many myths surrounding that performance.

Lots of bands have claimed to have seen it but the movie sort of crosses that T and dots that i. What are the chances, the members of what would become Joy Division/New Order, Mick Hucknal (Simply Red), and members of the Buzzcocks. I think there may be one I’m forgetting, all were there?

Wife is fine…just a little sinus problem. They’ve been wanting to root around those sinus cavities for years. She’s too scared to commit to It (I’d be also!) so just a round of Anti-B’s.

One other thing I’ll add…I watched a bio on Tony Wilson after watching 24 Party. The movie made it sort of look like he was just a loose cannon with a drug problem and a good education.

He was much more than that. A serious journalist that was recycled in different chat style shows for over 20 yrs. Some from the looks of it were very serious current event type productions.

I think he said it in his interview…”I’m a serious journalist who was a music enthusiast.” That love spilled over into his managing the local talent.

Interesting character.
