isn't it time these big-time hosts ditched their employer companies and created their own? Kimmel alone has a net worth of $50M. The spineless companies refusing to stand up for their bread and butter stars deserve to lose them.

A combination of, say, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Kimmel, Colbert and others could set up their own company and air online, not beholden to government whims and tantrums, not beholden to scared investors.

I dunno, seems it could be done and done well if they wanted to.
 
I was watching a clip from Adam Mockler, and do you know what triggered Kimmel's cancelation by ABC? Him showing trump being asked how he was holding up after the death of kirk and trump spending about 2 seconds responding to that before launching into a boastful speech about the big beautiful ballroom under construction. Kimmel's words following the clip were "I guess trump's in the (fourth?) stage of grief... construction.' That was it. That was what trump and his minions seized upon with threats and a lot of saliva.

fascism does everything it can to cancel the voices of dissent against authority's agenda.

Authoritarian Trump regime coerced ABC into pulling the Kimmel show because Kimmel told the truth on air.
Nexstar has business pending before the FCC. The broadcaster is seeking approval for a $6.2 billion agreement to acquire Tegna Inc., another local station owner, and needs Carr’s support to complete the transaction.
