Seems like a trick question. Way too broad to start with. Without political violence I would be speaking English before the King instead American. I'd have bad teeth and keep stuff in the boot. :)

The way things are going, what with all the guns in your country and the nutters like Elon Musk screwing up your government, and the measles epidemics, maybe being part of the Commonwealth wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Anyway, as I recall, your Continental Army way back when was actually fighting a war, not cosplaying like Donald Trump with your National Guard or that Q-Anon Shaman bloke.

I fully reject political violence

I also understand why some people feel it is an option, and their reasoning on a sliding scale. Only by understanding the whys of something can anything be effectively done to stop it.

"We may disagree on policy, but we are united in our belief in the value of life, civil discourse, and mutual respect," said Ken Naylor, chairman of the Young Republicans. Anthony Cherry, vice president of the Young Democrats, added that young leaders must "make political nonviolence our pledge," warning that "when our dialogue becomes toxic it has unimaginable consequences."

But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
