I teach graduate students on their practical rotations. As I was putting my water bottle in my backpack, which I've been using since I started undergrad in 2001, while getting ready to leave work today it occurred to me that my backpack is older than my current grad students. Fucking christ that made me feel old.

When I was 20, I decided not to get excited and 'busy'. Although I have no regrets I now wish I had been a little more outgoing.

I have 1 employee who is 1yr younger than my start date.

As I'm not quite 50, having a Graduate <1/2 my age did make me feel old.
