But he has messaged me before in a private dm and we got along just fine.

If someone who is the opposite of me on many political, economic, social, educational, whatever issues...but speaks in a calm manner and tries to use facts to make a point or case, I can respect that even if I disagree.
When ppl resort to telling me to fuck off repeatedly, or use blatant lies and misinformation or deflect etc, then I lose some/all respect.
Which is why I can respect individuals like Mitt Romney and John McCain, but not Donald Trump.

I saw them, heard them, it’s just got to be so hard that so many people have gone straight to political extremes that his family seems to be pushed to the back. I listened to one newscaster talk about his “lovely and beautiful wife and his beautiful children” only to turn it around on the person he was questioning and make it into a secondhand comment. Sometimes I just really hate newscasters. I know the world won’t stop spinning to give that poor family a moment, but she is going to need it.
