What made you say "fuck, I'm old" today?

I got out of bed and every bone in my body popped as I began to walk my body adjusting and cracking to stand up straight

Catching myself, from falling off the hay wagon yesterday, and severely straining my rotator cuff. 🐓

Today I received a text from my GP surgery to tell me that my flu vaccine is on its way... It confused me for a moment because I'd never received anything like this before. Then BOOM. I remembered I'm 50 now and these are the fucking perks of getting older.

You're 50!? You don't look a day over 48!!

You only get a flu vaccine over 50? Or do they just nag you about it when you’re over 50?

I hit 50 this year, too… time for a shingles vaccine! 🫤

I could get it before, but only due to extenuating circumstances so I had to sort it myself and 'prove' why I needed it. I thought it was over 60s when it became systematic, but they may have lowered it since COVID.

I don't think we do a shingles vaccine as an age routine thing. I don't know. I'm still learning how to be old. :ROFLMAO:

Confirmed rotator cuff tear that happened in June
Got to love American medical/insurance industry

Wow, we get free flu vaccines every year, no matter the age. Kids and adults. (At least for now, I’m sure some are trying to take that away…) Shingles is 50+ though.

It's always free, just not automatically given. Only vulnerable (kids included) and aged people. I also had to ask for the Woman's 50 health check.. that's also free but it's not advertised, so it's like going into the surgery in disguise and asking in a weird voice if this is the 'right place' to get this under the table. :ROFLMAO:

So? You must really like surgeons to expect to be getting under the table !
