Get them to watch the BBC series with Colin firth. That will change their minds.Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. Again.
My eldest child is reading it for their summer reading assignment. I love this book. They absolutely hate it and do NOT want to talk about it with me.![]()

You could always try the film Bride and Prejudice, which is a fun Bollywood take on it.I know they're missing out. I'll give it some time. If I put it on now they'll just run out of the room.
Maybe if they made it into an anime cartoon they'd give it a go...
I was given it as a child, along with a couple of others. As much of an avid reader as I was, this was too 'old' and I couldn't get into it. I didn't learn how to appreciate classics until GCSE's and English Lit at A level.Hated the book. My aunt lent it to me. Watched the series. Re re-read the book completely different

I bounced off it twiceIs it going to be too bloody & military-ish for me? So far it’s not bad, though it’s a little slow
It’s actually still sitting right next to me on my night standI bounced off it twice(but both times it was a library borrow and I got busy before I could find time to read it) I agree it was slow but it gets such good reviews. And I think @DannieB liked it.

Looks likeIt’s actually still sitting right next to me on my night standI will say it came highly recommended by my mother but it is such a slow start and I ended getting caught up in two other reads with my children that I don’t delve into it as much as I tell myself I will

The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia
BooksAmazing book, way better than the film
In my opinion books usually are much better than a cinematic version.Hub pointed me to the book but he suggested I avoid the film, which I did.
