Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. Again.

I was given it as a child, along with a couple of others. As much of an avid reader as I was, this was too 'old' and I couldn't get into it. I didn't learn how to appreciate classics until GCSE's and English Lit at A level.
I think children should always be led into reading classics sideways, not head on.

I bounced off it twice
(but both times it was a library borrow and I got busy before I could find time to read it) I agree it was slow but it gets such good reviews. And I think @DannieB liked it.

I will say it came highly recommended by my mother but it is such a slow start and I ended getting caught up in two other reads with my children that I don’t delve into it as much as I tell myself I will
