Cock Talk

This time of year always makes me think of having to go Back To School, the end of summer and the last fun there was to be had.

I was not a fan of school and I’m still very excited not to ever have to go back there.

However, I am interested to know what my fellow Lit friends were like in school, so:

Did you like going to school?
Were you the class clown, brainiac, jock, shy wallflower, the bad kid? What were you like then and how are you different now?
All guys remember going back to school and seeing the girl who “grew boobs” over the summer. Did you transform over the summer, do you remember getting newfound attention? What is the female equivalent to this—what did girls notice different about guys?
Did you stay connected with classmates over summer, or did you enjoy the break from them?
What was the main attribute that stood out to you of the TEACHER you had a crush on?
Do you have a good boner story from school? (Keeping in mind that you and everyone involved were 18 years old at the time—LIT RULES)

No - I had undiagnosed ADHD which made everything a struggle so I was always “not living up to potential” and feeling like a disappointment

I was painfully shy. Now I’m not shy most of the time, though I still am in certain circumstances like with someone I like romantically/sexually.

No, I don’t remember having any big transformations over the summer or getting attention from people (though I’ve been told I’m pretty oblivious about that, so who knows).
What is the female equivalent to this—what did girls notice different about guys?

I remember noticing boys who had gotten taller or whose voices had dropped.
Did you stay connected with classmates over summer, or did you enjoy the break from them?

I wanted to, but my family went to another state for the summer so it was hard to.
What was the main attribute that stood out to you of the TEACHER you had a crush on?

I never had a crush on a teacher I don’t think
Do you have a good boner story from school? (Keeping in mind that you and everyone involved were 18 years old at the time—LIT RULES)
Nope, I had no dating/sex life in school.

Just imagine how we teachers feel! We don’t want to be there any more than the students do, I can promise you.

No I did not.

I was very quiet and shy when I was in the younger grades. Very disorganized. Very low confidence. I missed a lot of school and we moved around a lot because my dad was in the Army so I didn’t make many lasting friendships. I wore my neighbor’s hand-me-down clothes so I never felt like I looked very nice. I was just kind of on the peripheral.

In the later grades, I was in Catholic school (though I’m not Catholic). I needed “structure”, which I got. There sure were a lot of rules. But looking back, I suppose that it did help me give me some direction that I missed in my younger years. I also made some of my lifelong friends then. I had a small group of friends that have stayed with me through thick and thin to this day. That’s how I tend to be nowadays too- a smaller group of close friendships.

I wasn’t a great student. I wasn’t very mature. I didn’t see the point in my classes and just wanted to get out of school. Funny now I’m the one teaching the classes. But I think my whole experience has helped me recognize my issues when I see them in my students.

There was a summer when I joined two swim teams - one for my high school and one for the army base I lived near. I also rode my bike to and from the practices. One was in the morning and one was in the afternoon. So, in one summer, I went from not very in shape to absolutely toned and tan and I was super strong and fit. I do remember my friend’s mom saying something like, what in the hell have you been doing this summer??!” That was the only instant attention I remember getting though.

I remember some guys growing taller over the summer. Some guys would grow like a foot over those two months. It was crazy.
Did you stay connected with classmates over summer, or did you enjoy the break from them?
I stayed in touch with a couple friends. Sometimes I’d also visit my dad who was stationed overseas after my parents split. So when that happened I didn’t keep in touch.
What was the main attribute that stood out to you of the TEACHER you had a crush on?
My social studies teacher/swim coach. He had the best body. That poor man was so easy to embarass. We would torture him by putting the erasers on the floor so he’d bend down to get them. We were awful. He would blush so red.

I do not have a boner story. 🤷‍♀️

Shockingly, I loved school. I loved breaks too but I was always ready to go back after a couple weeks
Were you the class clown, brainiac, jock, shy wallflower, the bad kid?
Per above definitely a brainiac. But a little class clown too.
What were you like then and how are you different now?
I’m a lot older? Which thankfully has largely translated in being more secure in who I am. I’m more empathetic to others. Juts more perspective in life . I still love learning things. But book intelligence is not the defining value I thought it was then. My humors changed because I’m secure enough to not need others to feel small for me to feel secure. But otherwise I think there’s a pretty strong throughline in the person I was to the person I am.

I dunno, ask my sisters.

I don’t 🤣
Did you transform over the summer, do you remember getting newfound attention?
Never. I didn’t have the greatest self image, which, looking back at pictures of myself is fairly ridiculous but whaddya gonna do. Anyway, I never had that summer. I do recall a good friend in middle school who was a big D&D nerd buying a new wardrobe and getting a haircut and suddenly not hanging out with us nerds anymore after one summer. It was very teen movie-esque.

Did you stay connected with classmates over summer, or did you enjoy the break from them?
I’m old, we didn’t have cell phones or email. It wasn’t until High School where kids could drive that hanging out over summer became common for me.

I didn’t have a crush on any of my teachers in grade school. I did have a psych TA in college who was super cute. But I mean, that’s different. I did usually crush on girls in higher grades though. Until very recently older women were always my thing. 🤣
