Which is a shame, because it's every person's dream to be a server at a nostalgic-themed suburban chain restaurant.

For a lot of people it's the difference between making ends meet and not. Don't knock it until you've been there.

Never forget, we here are the articulate few, and whatever our politics and whatever else we say about each other, we're educated, we're (from what you all say) reasonable secure and well off financially.

Meanwhile, 21% of the USA's population is functionally illiterate and 54% of adults have a literacy below a sixth grade level. That limits you somewhat in terms of employment - in a modern society, there isn't a lot of scope for the illiterate - even working in a warehouse or driving a a truck, working as a persona care worker, working in a restaurant as a server or cashier, all require functional literacy. The bulk of the jibs in the USA are NOT what we here on the PB do. Not being elitist or anything, and likely none of us think of ourselves as elites, but in the context of the USA, we are up there in that top 25%

We never think of it, but 75% of the US population are essentially marching morons who exist in a society that a minority of the population keep running and functional. Probanly anyine of those 75% would be happy with a job at Cracker Barrel.

So yes, for a big chunk of American's who live on the edge, one paycheck from financial disaster, a job as a server at Cracker Barrel WOULD be a dream. I've worked in a supermarket on minimum wage and believe me, for a LOT of people, a job like that is what they survive on, and losing it would be a disaster. In a lot of small towns, there are NOT a lot of jobs and something like a job in a supermarket or Cracker Barrel is a second income for a family, or for a single parent, their only income, and that means financial security.

I don't hate the new logo because of politics or some other nonsense reason. I don't like it because it's continuing the trend of removing all personality from every logo for stores and icons for apps. Everything looks so same and personality less it all blends together and makes everything feel the same. Why go to yellow and brown logo restaurant when I could go instead to brown and yellow logo restaurant instead.
