I've discovered that a couple of my friends enjoy listening to erotica or reading a naughty kindle book while traveling. Thank God, I ask too many questions but more importantly who else does this?

I'm a people watcher and since my freinds' had their confession...well I'm always trying to figure out who listening or reading erotica :)

p.s. more power to them!!!

My wife likes listening to the audio book "Babysitting the Baumgartners" (by LitE author Selena_kitt) when she's driving. One time she said she had to pull over to get off with a vibrator she carries in her purse.

And one of my personal editing processes is to use a text to speech program to listen to my own stories when driving (and others). I can hear some of my mistakes. And I get ideas for other changes to make the text flow better.

I listen to my WIP stories on my way too and from the office in the car. They are all on my phone which I have connected for navigation anyway.

@DanOkeffie,
My dear colleague, are you kidding? Trying to drive while yanking my stick would cause an accident or, at the very least, a moving violation for not keeping in my lane!
Respectfully,
D.

I have been doing this recently. Sometimes it’s a little distracting, sometimes really quite funny. It gets me thinking a lot about how vocal artists read out stories.

...or reading a naughty kindle book while traveling.
I've done a lot of traveling for both work and pleasure where I did not have access to the internet and/or Wi-Fi. I took to cutting and pasting erotic stories from a couple of different sources into Word documents for loading onto my Kindle. I keep a folder on my computer titled "Next to Kindle" that usually contains close to a hundred stories waiting to be moved to the Kindle for upcoming trips.

Doesn't that get confusing sometimes? "Go down. Faster, faster! Use the other alley. Deeper! We're nearly there!"

Does that include resolving any feelings you get from the story?
Strange to say, I might get aroused while envisaging the scene and first writing it. Seldom when I’m in refining / editing mode, that’s more focused and kinda a dry technical thing. I do re-read my published work sometimes, often to see what I could have done differently, and am pleased when I reconnect with my initial excitement.

I have three (female) married friends that listen to erotica and or read while on a plane. They all hate traveling but enjoy the rush of say listening/reading a MFM while traveling. So when they get to their hotel room they can ... and fall asleep quickly

Great ideas that I must borrow!

That’s a great best practice, thanks.
I purchased a program "Speech2Go" which turns the text into an MP3 audio file to play on any other device.

It's a crude way of making audio books, because there's no emotional tones to the voice. And it's just a male OR female voice to use. But it works well for editing my own stories. I can hear mis-spelled words and where I've inadvertently left out a word. And I often hear a sentence read to me and think "Wow, that really sucks. I need to rephrase that."

EDIT: I've realized that my wife can't listen to my stories from the text-to-speech program. I know who is about to speak and what to expect as I listen to my story. But when she's listening to it the first time, she doesn't SEE the paragraph breaks and the beginning of a sentence by a different person. It's more difficult for her to follow the story.

Lately - I type some simple scene prompts into some AI chatbot. Then I get it to read it out. And listen to it when I'm driving.

If you listen to erotica while driving and it makes you horny, does it count as DUI?
There was one episode - back in 2012 - I had made a compilation of erotic moan sounds, I was listening to it while driving. There was this one sequence that was so dramatic I actually had an orgasm just listening to it while driving. Yes, it got messy, I had to go back home and clean up. I'm sorry if that was a little "TMI". I definitely would not recommend doing this kind of thing.
