News on the medical front. Momma’s best friend is a lady that lived across the street. The middle child is a nurse and she found my mother a back doc. Well…it turns out that after two MRI’s in the ER…she had a broken bone in her back after all…. I was so pissed when I heard this. A lot of pain and suffering over the last week…anyhow, they’ve got her on some different meds and she’s resting. I’m going over for a Health&Welfare meeting today to make sure she’s comfy. I think we go see her oncologist tomorrow. Hopefully, she’s on the mend.

Hurricane looks like it’s staying away. Light breeze and cloudy today. Let Erin slip on out to sea…

I have had some of the same medical issues you mother has had. I recall a radiologist looking and looking at the scans and finding nothing. I understand AI has become very good at doint the interpretation of xrays etc. I have survived cancer twice, knock on wood. So pass along that medical science can work wonders these days but it is not perfect. My back has been good for almost 30 years now and I forget how long I have been more or less cancer free.

Now I have time to share a similar story.
When I was a kid, dad had "open knee" surgery, which required hospitalization back then.
A couple rooms down, was an older man who had gotten his leg tangled/mangled very badly in a garden tiller.
The surgeon did a beautiful, miraculous job on saving his foot and leg, both of which were practically severed.

He kept complaining of pain, constantly pulling his oxygen mask off.
They'd give him more pain meds, sweetly telling him to behave and keep his mask on....

...fast forward several months... my brother was having ankle surgery for a sports injury.
We saw that same old man in a room again and stopped to check on him.
Turns out, he'd also broken a hip in the initial incident, which went undetected the entire time.
He said that was what had been hurting the most, his first time in...
It happens.

My SIL has just been put on hospice care. I've spent the last few days conferencing with the family.

Cars and trucks and tractors are either boys or girls. The truck is Petunia, the old one was/is Fred. The motorcycles are Zelda and Morticia. The old cars are Fred-something. The new car doesn't have a name.

Yet . . . .

My dad nicknamed all our cars. There are some where I recall the nickname but not the make/model

After 2 mornings of travel with my grandchildren and daughter, it’s a day of recovery. I love them but get tired too easily.

They are little bundles of raw energy, aren't they?

I now need to go through the house to make sure that all evidence has been removed. .... I mean tidy up a little

It really only bothers me on the weekend. Otherwise I have that wait time built into my workday routine.

I did programming on industrial control computers. Regardless of the system there were provisions to add notes to the program about what was the purpose of each line on what was supposed to happen. I made copious notes for several reasons not the least of which was my poor memory.

I love that - I would use the heck outta that info!!
I'm always using the reference materials and manuals available to us.
