For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

We gave the invader a warm welcome to our country.

I have no idea why "screaming at our opponent" is along the same lines.

They are our adversary....in the definition of the word. They (and he) has been actively working to destabilize western governments. They actively work to break up NATO on the regular.

He is a mediator of two opposing sides. Neither are our opponent.

One is our ally. The other is our adversary.
If the West, including recent democrat administrations, expectations are unsatisfactory perhaps the line in the sand should have been drawn and enforced 10 years ago.

So now the feckless foreign policy of the last 2 democrat administrations has blown up into to major conflagrations (Iran vs Israel) and (Ukraine vs Russia) and now this is all Trump's fault.

Obama and Biden have both funded Iran's and Russia's military coffers, directly and indirectly. Night drops of pallets of cash to Iran, lack of enforcement of sanctions against Iran, eliminating the sanctions on Nord Stream II pipeline feeding the Russian economy, all of which funded military aggression against their neighbors.

The left's lack of self awareness is galling. The left's willingness to give Obama and Biden a *get out of jail free* card is, welp, to call it hypocritical is an understatement.

He has little grasp of the facts on the ground in Ukraine or the human consequences of the Obama and Biden presidencies.

They make no sense. This is not our war, it’s Biden’s war, and he unleashed it without the resources or strategy to win. Short of a World War III mobilization, which the U.S. cannot and should not attempt, we were never in a position to defeat Russia in Ukraine. The losses and chaos we’re seeing are the direct result of his mismanagement and overreach.
It goes farther back than Biden. This is Obama's wars. Obama laid the foundation for this mess. I don't completely blame Biden for his fecklessness. He was cognitively impaired even before entering office.

This is true. All roads of American chaos in Ukraine lead to Obama, even the incubation of the Biden presidency.

We gave the invader a warm welcome.

No self.awareness is needed beyond those that support our administration.

And Biden gave away 300+ billion dollars of American taxpayers money with no strings attached and no end in sight.

There’s only one man on the planet who can actually bring Putin and Zelensky to the table, Donald Trump. First, he had to sit down with Putin and see if a path to peace even existed. Today, he tests whether Zelensky is willing to step up. If a deal isn’t possible, we can walk away, no American lives wasted, no wars fought. The American people aren’t asking for a new American conflict, only common sense.

Neither one has been at the same table together

Putin needs to step up. Trump needs to force him to stop his invasion.

With what, dudly? A threat of US or NATO nukes? US invasion of Russia? What do you think Putin's response to that would be?

LOL. The day we see Putin and Zelensky at the same table, I'll buy weveryone here a coffee.

Trump will make his call. Putin will make his excuses. Trump will blame Zelensky for not making enough concessions. Or something,

All Trump needs to do is STFU and sell Ukraine all the weapons and ammo they want. We'll see peace pretty quickly then. May not be anything left of the Russian oil industry or Russian military be then of course.

Nothing so crass. Two hundred F16's, a thousand Bradleys and US industry supplying a few million drones to Ukraine should do it.

Oh, and sanctions. Let's not forget sanctions. The bill is ready.....

Putin's response.....

To conduct indefinitely long ‘talks for a peace treaty’ amid ongoing full-scale hostilities, without even a ceasefire, is such a historical nonsense that only someone trying to buy time to keep the war going could propose it -- and only a complete idiot, blind to what is happening and where he stands, could think it’s a brilliant plan.

What's very interesting is that Zelensky can "end this war any moment" by surrendering his country and betraying his people and his heroically fighting military, but Putin at the same time absolutely can't -- he is unequivocally forced into slaughtering hundreds of people on battlefields and murdering peaceful Ukrainians in their homes every single day.

Go figure.

Yeah, let's start WWIII because of anti-Trump sentiment and TDS.

With force. So your answer is to capitulate to Russia.

Got it 👍

Sounds like a positive meeting today, at least so far. Still going on in the Oval Office. Here’s one reporter’s recent summary posted on X:

Listening to events at White House, the three central issues are: 1) What territory Ukraine will concede to Russia; 2) Whether sending US troops to Ukraine will be part of 'security guarantees'; and 3) Whether there will be an Article 5-like deal that gives Ukraine NATO-level protection -- and obliges other countries to its defense -- without being a member of NATO. Two and three are obviously of great importance to Trump's domestic support, and not just the MAGA base.

Here's a hint: It won't end, and Trump will come up with more excuses to try and help Putin

1) won't happen.
2) won't happen and with no US boots on the ground, it's no deal. No-one trusts Putin
3) Article 5 deal is just more worthless paper

Putin won't agree to a ceasefire in place - he knows his only help of getting Donetsk is to have Trump force Zelensky to capitulate and that's not happening
Putin won't show for any meeting with Zelenskyy

The talks today seem to have gone very well. It sure looked like the US, Ukraine, and the European leaders are aligned on key provisions of a negotiating position, very upbeat and united. Putin has shown zero interest in any serious peace plan, however, if he was hoping for division between the WH and Europe, he could not be feeling happy about what he saw on TV today.

And!!! they're selling military equipment to Europe (NATO) not just giving it away at the expense of the American taxpayer.

Yes, from that perspective it's more positive. The concern of courzse is that when Russia fails to respond, Trump will turn against Ukraine again

Sell or give, as long as Ukraine gets it, it's all good

We nowhave the illusion of making progress, and this will keep going in circles for a very long time without any real results. As long as Trump sells weapons to Ukraine, ot doesn't matter.

Trump is terrified of Putin with his knees shaking, and even more afraid of admitting his failure with him. Now it’s all going to nbe these meaningless ritual dances with “deadlines,” “bilateral meetings,” “trilateral meetings,” debates over who supposedly wants peace more or less, “deals,” phone calls, "peace deals" with and without ceasefires. All of this will drag on endlessly -- anything to create the illusion of frantic activity, hollow PR, while doing nothing to actually force Russia to stop the war.

Putin couldn’t be happier with this. As long as the useless circling continues, he keeps killing, he thinks he's winning, and there's no one holding him back.

Europe can supply those systems to Ukraine and we sell to NATO. Who would fly 200 f-16s?

The new funding system know as PURL is already up and running. The Netherlands have deposited 500 million for new American weapon systems while they donate weapons to Ukraine, at least that's how I understand it. Tons more to follow.

When you look at this AFU "Flamingo" FP-5 missile. Think of 1950's US Matador or Mace ground launched cruise missiles revised with 2025 technology in a six-ton, 3,000 km / 2000 mile range 1 ton-warhead package. The FP-5 cost is claimed to be 1/5th the $1.4 million unit cost of an American Tomahawk. Current production is said to be 50 per month.

Who was the numb nuts on the board that was mocking JD for his statements regarding the US taxpayer no longer funding Ukraine?
