If you're looking at stories from 2001-2014 and seeing that they've gotten a million reads, keep in mind that they have had 11-24 years to accumulate those reads. It didn't happen overnight.

As such, I don't see why yours couldn't achieve the same, given the same amount of time.

I also don't really think that today is any more porn fueled than at least the latter part of that time frame was.
