By "other venues," I mostly mean that I have been trying to find someone on the dating apps. It's been 9 months since my separation, and I'm ready to be back out there! But I have found that the current state of dating apps is mostly that they are money sinks because there are multiple sites out there that charge significant "per message" costs, some as high as two dollars per.. That doesn't sound bad, but it adds up quickly if you get in a solid conversation. I also discovered that most of those sites have profiles designated things like "popular member" or "celebrity profile." These profiles act like real people but their only actual purpose is to get men to talk more, and use up their credits.

And even the real women on the sites are very reluctant to meet in person, it seems. Have had multiple false starts with women canceling dates at practically the last moment. even a couple of instances where I was prepared to drive a considerable distance for a weekend visit, only to have it canceled the day before or something. I'm actually in a bit of a holding pattern in theis very moment because I have anothe "weekend invitation" starting with tomorrow evening. Very hopeful that the same action doesn't happen in the next 12-18 hours, but at least this woman is one where I've had some contact outside the dating app. Only through Facebook, but it seems likely she's a real woman at least, not an invention of a web app being run by an employee or a bot. I'm not unaware of those possibilities, but the sophistication of these false identities has grown significantly lately.

I know some sites are free or close to it? But obviously I cant verify the quality of the people on said sites.
But wow, that sounds like it would get very expensive, very quickly.
And bailing at the last minute has got to suck...thats just uncool unless there is a true emergency of course.

I used some pre-made roasted corn from trader joes and heated that up
i bbq'd some chicken thighs
i crushed a few tortillas chips for sprinkling on
and yes...arugula, spinach, red cabbage...
and then some ranch dressing and a bit more bbq sauce too
i didnt use cheese this time

and had some yellow spot whisky!

I could almost eat that. Maybe get rid of the arugula and red cabbage and ranch dressing and I might be able to do that. 🤣

the arugula is the lettuce...ie, one of the main ingredients in the salad

sweetie, we had a change in heart concerning what was willing to be showed??? I'm pretty sure that was the first time I've ever seen you show your pussy. I'm very pleased to have seen it, but it did catch me off guard...

BTW, I just have to say this.... I told you back in April the Padres were a better team this year and were going to be hanging around and weren't going to be run away from this year.... Now a lot of that has to do with the fact that the Dodgers have so many people injured and even a lot of players that should be on the IL but aren't because they're needed on the field despite thir "lesser" injuries. (I don't think Betts is 100%, for example) But injuries are part of baseball and part of what makes the depth of a team so important.

This could get interesting... expecially if the Padres take advantage of the fact that the Dodgerts basically have their entire bullpen oin the IL this weekend. and then we play again NEXT weekend. six of the next 9 games are between our two teams. Padres got better at the deadline and the Dodgers are hurt. it's possible the Padres can win both series and build a little bit of a cushion. Though winning the division isn't as important as trying to get the second bye and get some rest and the chance to set up their pitching.

"Bench and Bullpen" has driven more than one team to a championship and the Padres are well set up to follow that strategy to a possible deep playoff run, and maybe even get back to the series for the first time since 1998. They have the best bullpen I've ever seen on a Padres team. And Laureano and Fermin have both played awesome since joining the team.

Not saying the Dodgers are "done" bet they need to get healthy or they might be. They remind me a lot of the 2023 Pads, who had all the talent in the world in the lineup and Should have run away with the division on paper.

Oh trust me I know the Padres are a very good team.
And yes between the massive amount of injuries, some slumping players, and not doing much at the deadline, as well as our bullpen just being atrocious and blowing every other game,I think it could easily come down to the last couple of weeks if not days.

I’ll be in Seattle for the dodgers-mariners series at the end of Sept; it could determine everything?! Craziness.

I like their old logo of the little "Happy Father" swinging the bat.
I actually used to kind of like the Padres a little bit. But some current/recent players are massive asshats (some on every team, I am not immune), and when they started talking smack without ever winning anything, it became both silly and annoying at the same time.
So now I just laugh at them. And even if they win a title this year or in the next few, Ill still laugh.
But to be fair, its hard to compete with the success of a few teams like the Dodgers, Giants, Cardinals, Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers...and even the teams that havent been good in 20 years or whatever like the As, Pirates, and Reds have a ton of titles.

I've been a Padre fan since my grandfather started taking me to games when I was four years old (1969-1970.) He "used" me to get allowed to attend more games. Grandmother didn't complain nearly so much if he took me to the game, compared to going solo. this served me well as far as seeing games until I was about 12...​

The padres have gratned permission to the fire station right outside Petco Park to use that swinging friar logo on their trucks. They replaced the bat with an axe and put a fireman's hat on him. Pretty cool.

I also wish both the Chargers and Clippers were back there.

i expect him or other white knighting simps from the other thread to dox me or say something that will cause me some sort of harm...surprised it hasnt happened yet to be honest.
