The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Good call. Thats what the dentists said too.

I think I turned the corner yesterday. Felt much better (I slept for 12 hrs on Tuesday), had a lot more energy and the pain was slightly less.

And it’s not fully there, my lip is slightly less numb. I think feeling is returning to it.
Once the feeling returns you will feel all the places you bit your lip and tongue.

I woke up too many times last night. Cat naps help.

Good morning denizens of the diner that is open 24/7 for insomniacs and early risers or night owls depending on what time zone you’re in.
Thanks b2. And a lovely day to you!
Another grandpa taxi run today. And a therapy session with my grief counselor. Just when you think you got it under control, it bites you in the *#**.
Sometimes that stuff just sneaks up on ya. ❤️🫂 love and hugs, brother.

It's been a busy few days here. Can't even keep up with youz guyz!

The ONE day I mow the lawn but don't throw a phone in my pocket to take a picture was last night. Had a what we call a wood spider jump a ride on my arm while mowing. (I think they're also called huntsman spiders). He was small, maybe 1-1/2" across. Then I look over at the apple tree, and there is a fawn watching me mow. A few minutes later it's mom with two fawns under the other apple tree. Then I notice the blackberries are going berserk! Wife ran out to start picking berries before I could get a photo. At least the berries are huge and very juicy this year (Yes I stopped mowing for a few hand fulls of them!) . Last year we picked almost 10 gallons. Probably won't pick that many this year...

Hope you all have a good day.

And @Missk_2022, I'm still waiting to hear more about this "nurse porn". Need to know exactly how to take that out of context... ;)

Have fun on your long weekend @Missk_2022 !

Does it start today or after work?

Hopefully that dick finishes the deck. That would be a good (late) birthday present.
It is done. There is a spot where the siding is cut away when original deck put in.. he didnt do it. .. I am not sure what I am gonna do about that...brown duct tape patch? Hahahaha

The cuts along the house for steps are also uneven....... that is what plants are for. To hide that shit

If i lived closer I would be in that patch picking with you I LOVE blackberries

Big fat juicy veins.....we will take em where we can "get" em...hahahahaha

I had cataracts removed and see so much better.
I did it. Selected the multi focal lens. With those they use a yag layer. Before they put me out to do the lens they used the laser to correct my astigmatism. I have better than 20/20 vision. The only thing that I could say is negative is sometimes a light coming from the side or directly above without a baseball hat on can make an annoying sparkle effect.

Quick update…this is literally the first chance I’ve had since the last.

After momma’s fall, she was just in constant pain. The ER doc said if she wasn’t getting better 3-4 days bring her back. We have to bring her to the ER due to her pacemaker and overall heart condition. So by day two, she called Sunday morning and said she couldn’t take it and to come pick her up. I get there and my son and I tried to get her out of her chair and she couldn’t do it. Called the pro’s and punted to EMS…that guarantees she gets a room (not a sure thing in our overpopulated town) and we got her right in. CT scan was negative again, thank heavens, and they determined that it was probably muscle spasms but her pain was through the roof.

So got her home Monday and settled. Hopefully she’s learned her lesson and will stay down till at least these meds are done. Still haven’t heard from the oncologist yet, so not sure when her radiation treatments start. Long road ahead for sure.

For all she’s been through she is good spirits. That’s worth its weight in gold.

I felt comfortable enough to leave her in the good hands of the rest of the family so I went to work. Out in Cali wine country so the MZ is more grapes!

The American Academy of Opthomology has a great article on this:
https://www.aao.org/eye-health/drugs/anti-vegf-treatments

Basically they're used to slow down or stop the formation of new blood vessels in the eye. Can be helpful for those with macular degeneration, diabetes, and a few other conditions. It can slow down vision loss or even improve it.

I would recommend the individual have a good, candid conversation with their ophthalmologist about risks and benefits. If it's a choice between slowly losing vision or maybe improving it, I would do it.
Thanks for this. On top of everything else. My mother was diagnosed the week before her procedure with Age Related MD…2025 had not been good to her…

Morning everyone...
catching up as time allows...
My wife has a chronic illness
It's rare and not well known
🫂 I'm so sorry, Rj. Immune disorders are a lot to deal with. As @Wonderer67 said, you take good care of Lady K. Love to you both!
chief engineer
that explains it!
Yes Ma'am... they're GREAT engines!... locomotives use them also.
and tugs and power stations and a few other places.
I went down a little rabbit hole before I found that clip. 😂
Good Night, just not yet for me but very soon...
Night, Rj. Hope you sleep/slept well
I try and shoot for 9 but last night was twelve and then up again at three...
🫂 Hope you have a better night tonight, OM
I hate when sleep gets broken up so much.
Seems your body only gives you credit for the last little stretch before you wake for the day. Seems pretty stingy to me, but I don't make the rules.
The first ones I ran had data tags stamped 1977 and 1978.
A technician was onboard doing and annual inspection and I told him it was impressive they're still running...
He replied
"Oh hell no! That ones a 1953 and that one's a 1957, those tags are when they got a factory reman!"

That was in 2017.
I have a couple of good running flathead straight eights. One was built in 1946 and it's a 1934 design. The other is a 1947 model and it is a 1939 design. Keep oil in them and don't abuse them (too much) and they keep on ticking.
Those old diesel engines just keep running and running and running.
Built to Last was more than a tagline back then 💖
I'll try to catch up with you ladies and gents later... gotta try to burn up another ink pen... have I mentioned how much I detest paperwork? 🤣
Ours shifted from actual paper to electronic.
I feel like there's more now and being electronic just obfuscates that fact. 🤷‍♀️ Doesn't change how we feel about it though. :ROFLMAO:
I doubt I could start one now. I haven't started an IV in over a decade.
Muscle memory - I think it would take far less than you imagine for those skills to sharpen up again.
Sheeeeeit.... I bet you can throw one like a dart and hit my vein!!! 🤣
 That's a bold offer. Either you have veins like ropes that sit on top of everything (in which case, I'm jealous)... or  :devilish: :ROFLMAO:
I hadn't been on a backhoe since late last century and still knew that whats and wheres, granted, without the proficiency. It's that old muscle memory like riding a bicycle.
Yes - this ^^^
Thanks, Likes! I didn't read ahead and posted the rules also. 🙄 I should have known you would be on it! 😅😘💝
Takes a village
I'd rather someone get welcomed multiple times than not at all. 🫂
It's our very own Tribe Vibe.
Wonderer plays bass, of course . . . .
New Band Name just dropped

Ugh - too many kidney alarms last night for me, too. Hate that! Looking forward to my lunchtime nap!

Grief is tricksy that way. Glad you're addressing it and getting the care and support you need. 🫂

Sleep is good medicine. Glad the pain and numbness are subsiding, albeit slowly. 🫂
Once the feeling returns you will feel all the places you bit your lip and tongue.
True - but let's focus on the positive first.
Feeling returning is a great sign that things are clearing up.
Great advice on the rinses. Flush that abscess out. The sooner that clears up the better!
Have fun on your long weekend @Missk_2022 !
Have a fabulous trip, @Missk_2022 !!!
It's been a busy few days here. Can't even keep up with youz guyz!
Keep up with us? Look at you!
Although that spider thing? NOPE! I've had enough of insects this week to last me until next Spring. 😬

Are you satisfied with the work otherwise?
So glad it's done!! Had really strong Scam Vibes* for a while there.

*new band name just dropped. @Wonderer67 - you playing bass for this one, too? 🤭

Yikes! Make you reevaluate your options for banking institutions. Glad all is well!
they determined that it was probably muscle spasms but her pain was through the roof.
I'm so sorry your mom's been in so much pain. Glad she's in good hands.
Not the same but - I've had both knees replaced. After the surgery they have you start to contract those knee muscles to get them moving again.
After the 2nd surgery they kept asking me to contract the muscle. It took me a few tries to figure out that the muscle was already in full contraction but I couldn't release it.
That was ramping up all my pain. So they added a muscle relaxer on top of the pain meds.
It did the trick, but I was in the hospital for 3 days, not 2 and only remember about 3 hours of the entire stay. Fair trade-off for getting that pain under control IMHO.
Thanks for this. On top of everything else. My mother was diagnosed the week before her procedure with Age Related MD…2025 had not been good to her…
🫂🫂 Your poor mom!! She sure has been given an awful lot this year. Glad she has you and other family to help support and care for her.
Make time for yourself, too. Self-care is health care. 🫂💖
