Wat’s Carbon Water-N-Stuff Thread - Concepts In Iron And Wood!!!

Just one more example of how petty, faceless, bureaucrats fuck over businesses and individuals. You see it all the time in your line of work.

Oddly, Wat gets along with some of those senseless fucks.

Just this week, Wat had seven inspections and passed all seven of them first time through.

Wat also knows what will happen when SHTF . . . .

I believe there is an important distinction to be made between religion and spirituality. Religion I take to be concerned with belief in the claims to salvation of one faith tradition or another--an aspect of which is acceptance of some form of meta-physical or philosophical reality, including perhaps an idea of heaven or hell. Connected with this are religious teachings or dogma, ritual, prayers and so on. Spirituality I take to be concerned with those qualities of the human spirit--such as love and compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, a sense of responsibility, a sense of harmony, which bring happiness to both self and others.

I got some new ten round magazines for my Springfield milspec 1911.

Gonna test em out this afternoon.

I got some extra mags for last weekend's acquisitions. I'll get to test them and the acquisitions, too, when next I wander Out West.

I put a set of slabside wood grips on my milspec SA many years back. I found some better ones with 30 LPI checkering and tried a set on my 10mm. I like them a whole lot better and maybe should swap out the slabsides for a set of these.

Saw a really attractive ammo price for Soooooper at Sportsmans Whorehouse. Armscor brand as I recall.

Ammo D000de has some close-out 38 s000per for cheaper than dirt. I availed myself of one.

Being as it ain't all over the place out there, it may take a bit to sell out, and now that I have two of them and it's reloadable brass. I may buy another next month.

We got the last of this ammo from Prvi Partizan! With a 35% tariff on Serbia and the Serbian president stopping ammo exports temporarily, this may end up being the last shipment we ever get. Time will tell, but this product will not be any easier to get than it is today. I stocked up, and if you have a Garand, BAR or 1919 and are short on ammo I think you should too.

This is M1 ammo from Serbia and they seem to have gotten clobbered with the tariff stick. IIRC, I read somewhere when this was in discussions that the Czech Republic was getting a much smaller tariff, like maybe 10% or so. The Sellier and Bellot ammo they put out is a tad better in my opinion, just as reloadable, and is was in the general price range. Wat will just keep an eye out for that then.

And plan to get back into reloading when it's feasible.

Finished soldiering through the book Soldaten which includes a lot of unintended interviews after a fashion with German POWs during WW2. The soldaten were secretly recorded as they chatted about all manner of stuff, from how they felt about the war, war in general, what they did, what they say and heard about, how they felt about that and what they thought about their nation's politics and policies.

One Stuka pilot's observations on shooting, bombing and killing were quite interesting. On Day One, the whole spectacle was very disturbing to him, but he did what he was given to do and in the manner in which he was trained to do it. By Day Four, he was perfectly content to strafe fleeing civilians down a road with nary a care in the world. What disturbed him on that day was the shrieks of a dying horse Pity the poor animal and fuck the people. Hmmm.

Overall, the book was a tedious read.

Next book: On Killing. This was suggested by a co-worker. It appears to be done in a scholarly manner. More shall be disclosed.

Food for thought. Not sure all he says is gospel, but he does at least have experience with this stuff and presents it as such and not just opinion.

The Czech's make good ammo AND firearms.

I have been shooting their ammo for years.

I now have one of their rifles from the time when craftsmanship was still a thing.

I'm subject to buy more of each.

The Germans done learnt them, and they paid attention.

CZ still makes quality stuff.

I just installed some new springs and followers in the 1911 mags. I bought two different style followers so I need to get out and give them a try.

I have a few mags that have some age on them, so likely they could stand a rebuild, too.

I like rebuilding shit and getting another 100000 miles out of it.

For the 1911 75% of all failures can be attributed to the magazine. 15% to crappy ammo (or someone trying to shoot semi-wadcutters without polishing the feed ramp). The remaining 10% go to various and sundry reasons.

Most autoloader failures can be traced to the magazine. The double stackers are notorious for magazine related failures.

Wat has more than enough 1911s to be eligible to sit on the Right Hand of God.

Of course, being as he is Allah's Favorite, this all should come as no surprise . . . .
