Day 7: A song that references outer space or aliens

Mi-Sex - Space Race

Mi-Sex were a fantastic New Zealand band, peaking in the early 80s. Perhaps a drummer can explain what's going on in the rhythm track here - it might be a perfectly simple beat but it sounds fabulous....

Shit guys, I’m sorry. Spaced on the prompt. I’ll get a bunch up tonight for the next few days at least.

Haha, you spaced on the space prompt.

Day 7: A song that references outer space or aliens

Everyone gave the dickie shit and called them sell outs. But no, this is classic Dickies shit. Aliens, clowns, space? The trifecta.

Only the misfits could do them one better.

Day 8- A song about dreams

The Pretty Things were the biggest competitor to the Rolling Srones in their early days when they were both belting out old American blues and r&b standards. I’ve heard they were much wilder than the stones.

They beat the Who to the punch and made the first rock opera (SF Sorrow) a full year before the Who’s Tommy. This song is from SF Sorrow

Big in England for a while. But in the US??

Day 8: Dreams

While they were not not the first to use backward recorded instruments, this was the first time a backwards guitar solo was introduced to popular music and it sparked some others, including Jimi Hendrix, to use the technique.

When I wake up early in the morning, lift my head, I'm still yawning; when I'm in the middle of a dream, stay in bed, float up stream.
