Sydney Sweeney: Blonde, Beautiful, and Suddenly Dangerous

it would be nice to see manufacturing come back to the us. Once upon a time almost everything worn in the United States was produced in the United States. New Yorks fashion industry is a graveyard compared to what it used to be. Hollowed out by sending that work and those jobs over seas.

🙄

Textile production is estimated to be responsible for about 20% of global clean water pollution from dyeing and finishing products.Mar 21, 2024

Contrary to what DonOld & the MAGAt republicans (like glamgorilla) "think", the US benefits bigly from manufacturing taking place on foreign soil - in more ways than one…

👍

We. Told. Them. So.

Not likely, too labor intensive.

The reality is that a long time ago American businesses traded fast profits for eventual bankruptcy. The ones who did it didn't care about the mess they were going to make, they only cared that they got massive profits which earned them praise and seriously padded their income.

Almost every seamstress ive worked with is latin or asian. These americans have been left without jobs but no one seems to be screaming about it.

Perhaps some predatory fraudsters behaved this way (and still do) but prior to World War Two a bankruptcy was a permanent stain on someone and it followed the individual even if the bankruptcy was corporate.

Only after WW2 was corporate bankruptcy normalized. Even then corporate bankruptcies peaked in 2010 and have steadily declined ever since.

If you saw the movie "Norma Rae" you have the answer to what happened to the US garment industry. And no, I'm not ragging on the unions. What happened was inevitable. Labor intensive industry is going to go where there's cheap labor. And that's the very reason the garment industry is leaving China for Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc.

your magatard hat is made in chiner.

The above without the quote doesn't mean anything and only a handful of people are upset. You guys are so quick to jump anything to pissy about that you're pretending this is a real mainstream thing. Yes I am perfectly fine with the bottom. I'm okay with the top but it was 100% race baiting and either they knew exactly what they were doing or they were incredibly stupid. Though as I've looked at ads over the years its pretty obvious that for starters we desperately need DEI cus this shit would most likely have been flagged. Though these people are often so disconnected from reality that they can't put two and two together.

Just like those old Brook Shields ads, right? LMAO

As ole weird Al would say, "Eat it, eat it, just eat it." :D

Had to google the Brook Shields thing. This is a fucking rerun?! Even without the internet people understood fundamentally that this was at best a poor choice of words?!

I'm not even offended and even if I was thus far I don't care enough about Sydney to boycott her. Honestly you have to be Kanye for that. Kanye can eat all the dicks and if I know he's involved I will skip the hell out of that.

It is worth repeating that I don't think this was a mistake. I think they figured some Lib would say something and the Right would screech. Funny I haven't heard any politician or thus far major media person speaking out about it. We need to get Cedric the Entertainer to dress up as Santa Claus and shout Happy Holidays. l would bet my life that from the President on down you'd think we were at war.

I need to go listen to some Weird Al. Loved that guy growing up.
