I'm curious about trying Viagra. I don't have difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, I'm just curious about trying to see what happens.
Has anyone experienced this kind of usage (recreational I suppose you might call it). If so, what were the results?

I'm not a doctor.

Viagra and Cialis both work by directing blood flow to the penis. A doctor told me that this can lower the blood pressure elsewhere in the body, like the brain. Some people are sensitive to this and may become light-headed or pass out.

So, I caution you about taking these drugs 'recreationally'.

BTW, Viagra is eliminated from the system in 4-6 hours. Cialis hangs around for more than 20 hours.

I know about possible side effects, but didn't know that Cialis hung around 4x longer. Thanks for that

V works for sure. At 65, a very small amount of it is very helpful. However, it only works for me if I get turned on (which takes very little).

I am 70 and use cialis, if i take one on Friday the effects last all weekend and into early week.

It has really improved our sex life as my wife can ride my cock with no worrying about my cock flopping out.

I had radiation therapy for prostate cancer in my early 50's. Until then, I never had a problem getting and maintaining an erection. My urologist prescribed Viagra and it works a treat. I needed it for practically every sexual encounter for the first couple of years after the cancer treatment. My oncologist also told me I needed to get and maintain an erection for at least 15 minutes every day to ensure erection health. Using Viagra, I was able to follow her guidance every day. After a couple of years, I no longer needed Viagra to get and maintain an erection, but I do occasionally still use it.

Yes it works. As I entered 50s my erection just couldn't be relied on. Up, down, somewhere in between, essentially a misfiring disappointment. Took V and as long as I'm turned on it works like I'm 20 again.

Oh, and as Billywalrus so elegantly put it, it does feel as though it could crack concrete. The down side is I don't have the back to use it as a jack hamer!

I assume it doesn't help for those of us that are quick shooters? I'm super sensitive and usually blow off within 30-60 seconds.

I got a script for generic Cialis about a year ago. I don't always need them, in fact I've only used 5 of them, sometimes cut in half, and indeed it works as advertised.

The side effects are AWFUL. It make me feel like I've been on a 3 day drinking binge, and also give me a headache and a stuffy nose. The effects last for a couple of days. But during that period I can fuck like a teenager. The pills are 10mg. Tred lightly, gents. I've never taken Viagra.

I'd love to hear from any generic Cialis users who've had similar side effects.

I’ve had similar., But nowhere near as bad as you, I don’t think

I told my doctor I had a hard time maintaining my erection after I already cum and my refractory period is much longer now that I’m in my late 50s. without Cialis, sometimes it takes me a day or more to be able to get a hard on after I have ejaculated.

I agree, it works as advertised and I can get hard as a rock for 2 to 3 days pretty much at will after I’ve already ejaculated once.

I do get a headache and some stuffy nose from it as well, but nowhere near as bad as you described. It’s more like a dull, mild headache. But if I take an Advil or aleve, it seems to go away.

I had mild ED for a lot of my life. it made me hesitant to initiate sex with new lovers and gave me performance anxiety, which made the issue worse.

It wasn’t until i was about 40 that I went to the doc and he gave the option of viagra or cialis. I chose cialis because I can take it occasionally ahead of a weekend and forget about it, knowing it will last without me thinking about it.

I found myself being quite sensitive to it, so I cut a 20mg tab into thirds (which is a pain because they’re a teardrop oval shaped tablet). Now that the patent has expired i can buy it in the uk over the counter quite cheaply. And the generic form comes in different mg, so i have a pack of 5mg which works a treat.

Side effects: I can get a mild headache. I tend to get acid indigestion, so I carry antacids and they work well to prevent any discomfort. If I were to have a very hard shag, it might make me feel a bit lightheaded or perhaps slightly more out of breath than usual afterwards but never to a point where it felt wrong. I think it was originally designed to control high blood pressure in the lungs?

I also find that it takes me a bit longer to come to an orgasm sometimes. I have been able to have highly aroused foreplay, build up gradually and for longer, and then go hard and fast for a long time without cumming, which can be good or bad depending on the circumstance or mood. I’m not sure how much of that is psychosomatic vs physical effect of the drug.

I imagine it would be good for edging, and great if you wanted to edge and use stop-start techniques to help train for premature ejaculation because you can maintain an erection for longer and more frequently.

It helped me become much more sexually confident.

There are drugs for that. Cricketer Shane Warner had them in his possession when he died (probably not a great reference but that's when I heard they existed)

Where do you get it over the counter? I'm in the UK as well and only seem to see the generic stuff available online (Super drug etc)

I have just started using viagra occasionally at 62. I was prescribed 50 mg, maximum is 100 I think. I cut mine and yet to use the full 50. I love it. Erections like I am 18 again. I do get a bit of a headache so I just take some panadol at the same time. I find my erections the next day are enhanced as well

Think I'm gonna get some. See what happens.

Yep, the generic version is identical to Cialis, just doesn’t have the branding and is a fraction of the price. I didn’t experience any difference between generic tadalafil and the branded one. I got the branded one from Boots on the high street via a prescription and the generic one from a reliable mainstream online pharmacy. I can’t remember which one. Save your money and grab the generic version.
