Limited catch-up today

I always put protein powder in the EBs. This time, I added a lot more to increase the protein amount. They also have quinoa, chia seeds, and almonds in them.

I do the same - load 'em up with protein powder, chia seeds, hemp hearts, ground flaxmeal... all that healthy stuff. Balancing act to get the moisture content just right with all those dry ingredients.

I just explained to a blind relative how to open a can with a kitchen mama can opener.
I’ve been getting them for every one. They unbend the can lid so there are no sharp edges. You don’t need strength or vision to use one.

I am ok w most snakes. When I was a kid I thought we had water moccasins here in NJ but it’s an urban (rural) myth. There are water snakes but they are not poisonous.

We do have northern copperheads and timber rattlesnakes here. I’ve seen a copperhead once.

We got plenty of good guys snakes tho: rat snakes and milk snakes and black racers I think.

One of our best snakes is the Speckled King Snake

Probably. She said that the reaction was just that, a reaction without thinking "what if it tries to kill me?" I reckon that it heard her tone of voice and fucked right off then.

I know SFA about snakes... I live in the city where I ideally shouldn't see more than a grass snake.

I know you are supposed to put your mask on first before helping others, but it’s so hard. I’m sleep deprived, juggling phones, calming my mom down who doesn’t understand where she is. She was transferred to a rehab place, it was late and she got roomed with someone who is watching tv loudly, it was blaring through the phone. She’s had a stroke and she can’t handle the noise. I just calmed her down, told her it will be ok, and we will get tomorrow. Lights out in 45 mins there. I asked them to move her somewhere quiet until then and they said they would. She may try and escape.
I need to eat, get my meds, breathe and that sort of thing. I can’t get to her until I get enough sleep to safely drive for 7-8 hrs.

I thought eel first, as well... until it showed it bright underbelly.... all of the eels I've seen before, were black, all the way around their bodies.

there use to be a mink farm along the Kickapoo River between Viola and Reedstown Wisconson. My Dad use to drive us past it and it stank really bad. Sometime in the early 60's Peta broke in and freed 1500 domestic mink loose into the enviorment. Most of them starved to death but not before killing every farms chicken in a ten mile radius. Its a good thing that Wat manages the weasels

The landlady was repairing a gate one day last week. It was falling apart and she decided that it didn't need to do gate things any more so she made it into part of the fence. She observed while she was working that a snake was watching her do it. She said it stayed there for several minutes and managed the job.


Who knew?


Then again, this is the same woman who was working on the fence in the back past the pasture in the woods down toward the creek and something feline growled at her. She responded, "how dare you growl at me in my own yard?"


It left silently.

She sounds like a bad ass! I like her!
