Will The Scotus Declare Race-based Gerrymandering Unconstitutional?

They think the solution to racism is more racism.

But as Dr. King said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hatred cannot drive out hatred. Only love can do that."

I'm in the Live and Let Die camp.

Of course not. But there's nothing racist about putting a stop to deliberately diluting the strength of communities comprised primarily of people of color. There is plenty that's racist about not doing that.

WTF???

Are you saying that creating BLACK MAJORITY Districts isn't racist when the point is to exclude other people BECAUSE OF skin color?

WTF???
Nice misconstruing of what YDB95 said there Arpy.

Oh, you've met plenty of us. You're just seeing us through your prism of bigotry.
God knows how much those 'well represented' communities have prospered.............right?

No, we think the solution to racism is not pretending the problem has been solved and we can simply ignore race from now on. But kudos for at least knowing a Martin Luther King quote beside the one every right winger loves to quote out of context.

I don't know who else needs to be told this, but the effects of 400 years of systemic abuse and oppression can't be done away with in just one generation.

"Cry me a river................."

They benefited hugely when years ago they started this practice in California to gain twelve additional House seats.
Those gains weren't due to gerrymandering, they were because the Republican brand is poison in most of California.

Why even post this? You don't adhere to it.

Because there's these things called post count and reaction score, stupid.

Ask rorbags about how that works, I'm sure he'd be glad to Litsplain it to you and everyone else while he avoids manning up and taking his betting lumps.

Oh right.,you need others to hear about your actions

How Rory of you.

I don't support his horseshit either

Nobody is pretending the problem has been solved -- in fact, it's gotten worse since 2009, after decades of progress.

If you believe that "the cure for past discrimination is present discrimination; the cure for present discrimination is future discrimination," that's racist.

If you believe that a person who is white cannot represent minority constituents, that's racist.

If you believe that all black people have common experiences and all white people are racists, that's racist.

So yes, your cult is promoting the idea that the cure for racism is more racism. Sorry to have to expose you.

Normal people support simply treating people as individuals, not interchangeable pieces of groups. Your group believes that people should be classified by identity groups, given separate facilities and events, judged by the color of their skin and treated differently because of it. And you have the gall to call it "anti-racism."

Yes, 2009...it is depressing how Obama taking office ripped the masks off the lingering racists, isn't it? But I still hope in the long term it'll be a net positive: that made it a lot harder for people like you to pretend.

Then it's a good thing neither I nor anyone else here has expressed a single one of those opinions.

He's teh one who was promoting racism, not his opponents. he made race relations worse on purpose to advance "the fundamental transformation of America."

You don't try to fundamentally transform something you love.

Wrong again. Those are absolutely foundational beliefs for your cult that have been expressed on this thread, just no in so many words.

You make things up and become upset by the things you make up.

Chloe and Rebel do the same thing. It’s a MAGA sheep trait.

You think it's a good thing for the government to engage in racism to combat racism?

Not only a good thing. An absolutely neccessary thing. The only other choice is to just accept it will always be this way.
I was told by my criminal law instructor (who at one point became the Public Defender for San Bernardino County) that we don't actually need laws prohibiting racism and all the rest. What we need are people who don't do that sort of thing.

I have yet to meet a Democrat who feels the same way. Ever.

We don't need laws against murder and all the rest. What we need are people who don't do that sort of thing.

That might even make some sense to you. But I doubt it.
You don't try to fundamentally transform something you love.
You do if you want to improve it, and he wanted to leave America better than he found it.

Closer to the truth to say it's what you choose to hear, to rationalize your own bigotry.

Wrong. The government engaging in racism only perpetuates and expands racism.
