Actually, I don't think very many, outside of those inside the circle of individuals who stand to benefit directly, believe it.

What the USA needs is a few journalists to do a public interest piece.

First, they buy up as many assault rifles, helmets, bullet-proof vests, night-vision equipment and as much ammunition and explosives as possible, making sure all the purchases are completely legal. Then they recruit a few hundred athletic men in their 20s as volunteers. Then they charter some buses and rent a few vans. They put the men on buses and drive the buses and the vans as close as they can to the White House or the Capitol building. Then they call a news conference with all the men standing there with the White House in the background or with them standing on the Capitol steps.

While the news media is videoing, they open the vans, which are empty, except for pictures showing the arsenal that could have been in them.

They've demonstrated how remarkably easy it would be for terrorists, foreign or domestic, to decapitate the government of the United States of America, all because of the country's ridiculous gun culture.

The 11th of September was a surprise for the USA. What other surprises are in store for them, in the 21st century?
