well, I think the lady that would have been my direct mgr really liked me...this was last Wednesday and after that interview she told me they were close with someone else already but she really wanted to get me in front of her boss, so I had that interview last Friday.
Then I heard they were still debating so they asked if I would meet one more time (yesterday). So I did, and that was with both people.
The guy was super weird and asked all the nonsensical questions. But apparently thats were I came across flustered once.
And my recruiter told me this morning they passed because of that and they needed "calm with clarity" during the craziness. So I guess my flustered response to something gave him/them doubts.

yeah no idea. I am guessing it came down to me and the other person they had told me they were interviewing. They may have offered it to that other person and were keeping me as a backup choice and when the other person accepted, they told me just some random excuse instead of just saying to my recruiter that I did well and they liked me a lot but found someone else with more experience/a slightly better fit for this role...yada yada...instead of some crappy reason about being flustered on a response which I was not. I mean, the project and position were in my wheelhouse, I wasnt interviewing for CTO or CMO for Amazon/Google/nVidia/OpenAI or something way over my head that I couldnt fake. I dont get nervous for interviews at all actually. Just got to remember I am interviewing them at the same time they are interviewing me. I am comfortable in what I bring to the table. So I found that answer to be quite odd to be fair but the end result is the same and thats fine. Im ok with it. As I said, didnt truly want it, just would have been nice for continuity-sake.
