OMG! 😱😱 I hope it stays well away from you! 🫂

This is my week from hell at work.

For my day job: (sales enablement) we are hosting our annual sales leadership meeting. So huge event. We’ve been planning this literally for months.

For my second day job: (change management) our new underwriting guidelines are updating on August 1st. So lots of alignment needed. They were suooosed to into effect on Friday too… but they have been delayed (don’t ask - it’ll drive up my blood pressure)

Other: travel to NYC for the rest of the week, have to pack, mow the lawn tonite after work.

See yaz later this week.
You're gonna be busy, W! Stop in for stress relief when you can! 🥰

I’m in the insurance industry, but certainly no expert.

The very high cost of claims and losses drive up the cost for everyone, making it very difficult to make money in certain geographic locations; California (wildfire
Risk), Florida how many Gulf Coast states (hurricane risk).

In a perfect world, the good risks should outweigh the bad, providing opportunities to make some profit. But the reality is that just doesn’t exist in many of the geographies I listed above.

To be fair and honest, there have been years we’ve made a lot of money. There have also been just as many years as we’ve lost our shirts. And you can’t stay in business by just breaking even.

The unfortunate part is that it drives up costs for all homeowners.

I am not sure what the answer is
It's complicated for sure!

I got a lot of rain but not as much as the airport. People can’t catch their flights and the interstate is blocked as well. I will check in with my daughter about driving tomorrow. Several years ago I had a close call with flooded streets. Never again. The fear is real as MissK knows.
Be careful! 🫂💜🫂

I had things I was going to do yesterday but spent HOURS making cherry syrup! Thanks, K+, for putting that notion in my head! 🤣🤣

I used up enough bowls, pans, and implements to fill my dishwasher. Also made a HUGE mess I needed to clean up.

IDK if I will do that again. It is tasty, but SO much work! I did use a fine mesh sieve; it probably would have been easier to use a regular colander. The syrup is in the freezer; the pulp is in the fridge. I think I will make a bread out of it.

Morning. It’s not good to wake up to shootings. This weekend 10 people were stabbed at random in Traverse City. No one died. But why? Why the shootings?

I know there are no easy answers.

I am up early to get ready to drive the grandchildren. Will check in with my daughter about flooding. It should be drained by now.

I saw that, it might as well be a hurricane. I hope you are high and dry this am.
