The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

This is my week from hell at work.

For my day job: (sales enablement) we are hosting our annual sales leadership meeting. So huge event. We’ve been planning this literally for months.

For my second day job: (change management) our new underwriting guidelines are updating on August 1st. So lots of alignment needed. They were suooosed to into effect on Friday too… but they have been delayed (don’t ask - it’ll drive up my blood pressure)

Other: travel to NYC for the rest of the week, have to pack, mow the lawn tonite after work.

See yaz later this week.

The River Naver is still one of the prolific rivers in Scotland and it was good to see so many salmon and sea trout in the pools. In the early part of the holiday low water and high temperatures kept them in the seas pools and estuary where I fished. After a little rain in the second week they moved up into the river proper.

It was good fishing in beautiful surroundings with just one minor mishap which my life vest in my waistcoat prevented becoming more serious. Damn seaweed is slippy underfoot when you are waist deep in a Scottish river.
Some of the pictures of the streams and mountains remind of our trip to Scotland. I have to get back.

I heard that also and I wouldn't blame them. On the other hand we had no problem getting insurance but it cost an arm and a leg and a first born. I am 5 miles from the Gulf and not in a flood zone. I think with the cost of insurance being as high as it is insurance companies are making money. The executives are being compensated really well, imagine that.
I’m in the insurance industry, but certainly no expert.

The very high cost of claims and losses drive up the cost for everyone, making it very difficult to make money in certain geographic locations; California (wildfire
Risk), Florida how many Gulf Coast states (hurricane risk).

In a perfect world, the good risks should outweigh the bad, providing opportunities to make some profit. But the reality is that just doesn’t exist in many of the geographies I listed above.

To be fair and honest, there have been years we’ve made a lot of money. There have also been just as many years as we’ve lost our shirts. And you can’t stay in business by just breaking even.

The unfortunate part is that it drives up costs for all homeowners.

I am not sure what the answer is

Batten down the hatches
Last night's storm appears to have been an appetizer
After another day with Excessive Heat Warnings...
even stronger storms are headed in from Montana.
Fun and games begin around rush hour
Derecho (4-5 out of 5) with winds up to 75mph+, heavy rain, hail - possibly up to softball size.

Most of this party is supposed to skirt just south of me... 🤞
That just sucks

My insurance is soo high

We have been getting strong storms since Friday night; you can have our high winds and heavy rain. Havre got flooded!
Hope it's due to calm down soon. Stay safe 🫂
This is my week from hell at work
You've got this! May not be easy, but you'll come out okay on the other side. 🫂🫂
I am not sure what the answer is
Clearly no one has the answer... yet. Have to have hope that there's at least a partial answer or compromise out there that makes the equation tenable
We have flood8ng here too
🫂🫂 Stay safe, chica! Hope the levels drop and there's no too much damage left behind.

So, our Problem Thinks-He-Runs-Things Tenant:

Busted on 5/17

Charges:
1: DUI: BAC of .24, three times the mandated limit
2: speeding 93 in a 65
3: reckless, probably for being over 80 MPH
4: no seat belt
5: expired tags
6: no inspection.

Sentencing (I think): 9/23.

Here's hoping he goes in the courthouse through one door and out the back into a paddy wagon . . . .
