Accusations in Story Feedback

She had a go at somebody else over the weekend as well - they can choose to out themselves if they want. Something that I want to emphasize though is that IMHO there is no 'right' way to respond - no 'you SHOULD'. Do what's comfortable or what you find most empowering. You can choose to laugh it off, to delete it, to report it, or to treat it as serious criticism according to your inclination. The comment that I saw was gratituously insulting to the author, misgendered them, was very long, and had little valid literary merit. It's usually nice when people read our stories and chose to invest time in a comment, but that doesn't give them a free pass to be a bully or to make people feel horrible about themselves.

So, let's get this straight. This is a list for stories which she THOUGHT broke the rules, and reported them. However, the site confirmed that the stories did not, in fact, break the rules at all. Meaning she was wrong.

Wouldn't this be a "opps, I was wrong about this?" list? or a "Confirmed not to be ToS violations" list? There are many titles she could choose which would be less misleading. Even "Unconfirmed ToS Violation Accusations" would be a smidge better. It's not the (non-existent) ToS violation with is unconfirmed, it's her accusation that could not be confirmed.

Seems more like their attempt at showing how morally righteous they are by pointing out cases where the site's moral judgement has been found lacking.

My first go around on Literotica, I got a lot of things said to me, and about me as an author.

When I left, I decided that when I was ready to come back, I was going to do a few things differently.

1. Write the entire story first. I appreciate people's input and ideas, but I'd rather they actually write stories of their own. That would make the writing community more diverse.

2. I turned off the comments. Love it, hate it, that is fine. I think Anonomous comments are... weird?

3. I wrote an author's note. I think a lot of people don't read tags, and they may be expecting one kind of story to get another. My author's note makes clear the kinks I am writing about, as well as my reason for writing about them. It encourages people who are unhappy to write the stories they want.

We will see how this works out lol.

I keep getting anonymous comments requesting me to not have my main male character to do gay stuff. And one person just today left a comment on Part 5 while talking as if he was giving me permission to do 'some gay stuff'

Says "Also, I don’t like that Kim is pushing him into some gay shit, although if she assists Danny with the blow job of her bi sub, it takes much of the nastiness away."

I feel like getting annoying comments is part of the game, but if we alter/censor ourselves for random people leaving comments then we're just being controlled by opinionated strangers.

Just keep writing I guess. Not much to be done about annoying people. In your case, it sounds a bit more disrespectful then what I deal with. But I can't see the comment you're referring to anymore, so hopefully that means the person can't comment on your future work too.

I haven't used the bisexual tag yet because the characters haven't engaged in bi sex at all. The commenter is just trying to steer my story away from that because it's clearly established the main female character thinks it would be hot, and the main male character is considering it because he's aroused by the idea despite feeling ashamed over the arousal.

But I think you make a good point. When the male character finally engages in 'gay stuff' for his girlfriend, I'll definitely put Bisexual in the tags so people can avoid it, and maybe other people will find it.

Till then, I'll just continue being grateful I haven't been personally insulted like the OP of this thread. So far it's just people trying to take the wheel and steer my story the direction they want.

There are some commenters who are violently allergic to anything even gay-adjacent. Someone complained on one of my stories, a family of four incest-o-rama where every pairing except father-son occurred, because the father (jokingly) told the son he wasn't too old to bend over and sodomize. That was a bridge too far for at least one wanker.

Yeah, that one was more amusing than irritating, I guess, and it does seem to happen all over the site, to some degree or another. I turned comments off, but it wasn't for the ones like that so much as the ones like Spicybean was talking about. No one accused me of being a pedophile... or if they did, I was already deleting their comments before reading them by that point... but there were a few folks (or one with a couple of alts) who said some pretty harsh things. I get more satisfaction denying them a chance to speak than I did from compliments.

You're definitely right about that. But...

If it’s any consolation I have read all your stories and can understand the questions stacnash may or may not have posed. The ages of the girls are pretty dubious but then again you’ve stated earlier that you recognise that. I would stick to writing lesbian and panty theif stories as opposed to incest piss play with potentially underage twins.

Okay, but once the site addresses the report and determines that the reader was wrong? Do you think the reader should continue to push their point of view, which at that point runs counter to the site owner?

He’s referring to ONE of THREE of the stories I have published (as was my OP) which covers themes of watersports, wedgying, stuffing and a fantasy element of two twins giving a guy a night to do with them as he pleases. It was written for a friend by request. Not my personal kinks either, but I was rather pleased with the result of the smut in the story, albeit the fact that it is littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. I like to look back however and see my writing process.

Firstly, only one person has said my piece “went too far”, and that was stacnasb. He said a lot more than that, hence my making a thread about it. It was the first story I published here and it knocked me a little. Even so, their issue was around the lack of an age mention, which is easily addressed with a reminder that it explicitly states they’re 19.

The rest of the feedback I’ve received has been constructive, thoughtful, and from readers who actually read the story for what it was, rather than reacting based on personal kink preferences. It’s also fair to mention it’s only ONE of my three stories with potentially weirder themes but I’ll touch on that below.

The piece is extreme, yes maybe to some people, but it’s clearly tagged, and written for a niche audience that want a bit of boundary-pushing content. That doesn’t make it harmful; it just means its not for everyone. And I don’t write for a huge crowd. I write for me.

Also, that guy clearly has no idea what Stacnash’s original comment actually said. It seems to me he also just doesn’t want to read about watersports.

It also wasn’t just casual criticism, it was an extremely long, needlessly detailed rant about how my writing was “disgusting.” He accused me of being fake, said I was using photos of online models instead of my own, and even claimed I was a horny, seedy man hiding behind a young woman’s profile to write and discuss illegal themes. It was personal, offensive, and completely uncalled for.

Personally I think she’s a bully who gets off on the outrage created by her personal attacks and poorly-formed opinions disguised as literary criticism. She has some defenders here though.

I think that the misgendering is a disturbing new element. It may be legitimate to question whether a profile picture is being used in breach of copyright (in which case a polite private message might be a good start). But to assume that every pseudonym and attractive pic conceals a middle aged man and then attack them accordingly is ridiculous behaviour and takes the ‘self-appointed cop’ thing to a new level.
