That ^ POS’s guilty conscience (sociopathic self-interest) related to the damning information / revelations in your post likely drove that POS to try to be a "hero"; which directly contributed to that POS’s death.

Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice is defending turning off his weather alerts ahead of the catastrophic July 4 flooding

"Whether my stuff is on or not is really a moot point because we have teams of experts that can navigate these," Rice said when pressed as to how a city manager could have his weather alerts off.

Notably, city agencies did not issue alerts through local channels, such as the City of Kerrville Police Department, the Kerr County Sheriff's Office, and Kerrville City Hall's social media channels, until later that morning.

Last week, Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring Jr. claimed he never received an individual warning before floodwaters surged, and was only notified about the river's conditions when Dalton called him around 5:30.

What annoys me most about this incident is that 3" of rain was forecast at first,anyone with intelligence knows that this amount of rain falling on hard ground is almost 100 % certain to cause flooding,no one could be assed to issue a potential flood warning,and when the amount of rainfall was expected to be much higher they seemed to have shrugged their shoulders.
Is this level of incompetence due to the Republican's appointing idiots to positions of power (a la Trump)?

some good news, though of course that is qualified given the size of the tragedy:

The number of people reported missing in the wake of historic July 4 flooding in Kerr County, Texas, has dropped from a peak of more than 160 to three, with many now verified as being safe, officials said Saturday.

I really, really hope this is as good as it looks.

It doesn’t subtract from the significance of the tragedy or the MAGAt republican incompetence & negligence at the federal, state, and local levels that contributed to the exacerbated scale of the tragedy, but it is still great news if confirmed.
