Missouri republic governor repeals voter-backed law for guaranteed paid sick leave and minimum wage

The notion that voters can vote to spend other peoples money isn't just immoral, it's criminal.

do employees deserve sick leave and a minimum amount of pay?

FYI - everybody spends other people's money. It's actually how capitalism works.

No employees don't "deserve" (as if they're entitled to) anything.

FYI I kn ow how Capitalism works and re-distributionist laws are NOT Capitalism, that is Communism (although many liars would call it Socialism).

Neat. So as an employee, you don't believe you are owed anything.

Thanks for confirming.

Glad to hear that you work for free.

Everybody pays for everyone else. Money from the consumer is given to the employee. That is capitalism.

Your paycheck is not guaranteed of the consumer doesn't buy the product you help create.

That line sounds dramatic, but it’s not how democracy works. Voters have always had a say in how resources are used—that’s the deal. Sick leave and minimum wage laws aren’t about handing out other people’s money; they’re about setting fair rules of the road for everyone who contributes to the economy.

Calling that “criminal” ignores the long history of labor protections. We didn’t get child labor laws, the 40-hour workweek, or workplace safety because business owners suddenly grew a conscience—we got them because voters and workers demanded them. That’s not theft. That’s democracy doing its job.

If you think basic worker protections are immoral or criminal, maybe the issue isn’t the vote—it’s your definition of morality.

The real crime, many would argue, is a system where people can work full time and still live in poverty, while being denied time off when they’re sick. If other nations—many with far fewer resources—can take better care of their citizens, what does that say about us? We call ourselves the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth, built on the backs of hard-working Americans. Maybe it’s time we acted like it.

In most civilized countries it's accepted that workers need protection from employers who would happily treat them as slaves.

In the US, supporters of a billionaire sex offender fraudster prostrate themselves before him and accept the ill treatment meted out by his friends. It seems to be a sign of weakness to think that workers should be paid a minimum amount and not need that topped up by the taxpayer in order to live.

Benefits to workers are not subsidies for the workers. They are subsidies for the employers.

Racist5sociopath should just: concede defeat; admit they (Racist5sociopath) were wrong / are a sociopathic imbecile, and APOLOGIZE. But we know they won’t - because they’re a POS MAGAt sociopath.

It’s so refreshing to see you call out the government for the billions of other peoples’ money they’re spending on ICE.

The real culprits here are those voters who voted for the propositions but then voted for the Republican legislators who repealed them. Each and every one of these morons should be bitch slapped repeatedly until they come up with a reasonable explanation for their stupidity.

Proxy taxes are NOT labor protections, it is bribery using 3rd parties monies.
Care to put forth your diatribe with some examples as a means of convincing anyone of your beliefs? This gibberish doesn't cut it.
