Ya wanna feel old?

Little before my time, but remember the reruns of his shows on....UHF so I'm getting there.

Similar here. Parents watched it, I didn't "get it" as a youngster, and still didn't in reruns.

Interesting to note he's still around, one of those semi-famous types where your first reaction in any conversation is, "He's still alive?"

Yeah, same, I'm not old enough to appreciate his show.

But his name is GREAT for Lit.

I saw (got dragged to see) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins when they first came out. He was all over Disney stuff. The sitcom was one of the funniest and funnest I remember seeing back then. The stuff between Rose Marie, Morey Amsterdam and Richard Deacon was pure comedy gold in ways you don't see any more.

I'm old enough to remember a lot of his work. One of my movies he did is Lt. Robin Crusoe, USMC (1966). If you don't get the reference, I'm very sorry.

He sings a song in the movie that sounded familiar, until he changes the words. In researching, I found out it was also on an episode of the Dick Van Dyke Show.

Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
. . . She’s really Uncle Fred

Not sure if people would find that offensive today, but back when I first saw the movie, in the early 70's, it was hilarious.

I’m surprised that people can live that long! I’m hoping that my aunt (who is 96 now) lives to be 100, at least.
