Nothing happens when i try to log in, just doesn't work. When I tried to set up a new account i just get a blank screen

Are you all having an issue getting into chat? For the last 4-5 days, it just comes up with "connect connect, try again later".

It's a weird cycle for me:

I log in. The control panel loads up and does its thing.

I get signed in and yet I see the "sign in" icon with the rest of the icons. Suggesting that I'm not signed in.

I then enter a forum or a thread, my mailbox automatically shows up and I'm signed in.

It's not a problem. It's just a weird issue. It might be an anomaly that happens just with me. Don’t know.

sounds like you need to clear your cookies and history and such, sometimes this strange little glitchy thing happens and you need to clear those to clear it

Yeah. I thought that that would be the issue, as it sounds like it was.

Alas, I've cleared out everything and it's still happening. Several times. Which just confused me more.

It's not really much of an issue as I can still sign in, etc. I just wanted to flag it up for anyone else facing the same issue.

Maybe it's a Firefox thing. It's a weird wee gremlin, no matter what it is.

ya.. i use chrome... if i recall i did have issues with firefox

I think the case has been cracked*

A few days ago I was attempting to buy a gift for my nephew using a cashback application. I was blocked in doing so because of a cookie issue.

Well done, Watson.

(Yes. I'm Sherlock in this instance . ;))

*Maybe.

On a technical level, this seems to happen more from cached CSS and ********** that is still being referenced when the site has changed something; For some browsers CTRL+F5 SHOULD force a full reload. If that doesn't work, cleaning temporary files and cache and then restarting the browser should probably fix it.

edit: What the? JS is a censored word?

Using the 'JS' word is restricted as posts containing JS could be used for cross site scripting to exploit the database and expose accounts. Putting it in the list of banned words prevents this type of code being injected through a forum post.

I don't really see how that works, but okay whatever works. I'd rather have as little scripting involved and closer to plaintext.

Nice to know the justification for why at least.
