Why is it men are more enthusiastic at viewing women

New to posting here so excuse me if I get things wrong.
After grazing around the forum I've come to the conclusion that men appear to be more enthusiastic at catching the ladies eye rather than the other way........women enthusing after men. ( Sorry for not including other leanings/gender etc. ) Does anyone have any ideas why this is?

I think it has to do with the way people are wired when they come from the factory...It isnt as though i have a choice, to look or not to look! I can't keep my eyes from looking at naked ladies, they are drawn to looking at their special parts.

Maybe it's because since the dawn of time women who "enthuse after men" in the manner you described were labeled cock-teases or sluts because such behavior was thought to be an offer of sex. And if a man didn't get the sex he thought he was being offered simply because a woman winked at him, he might react aggressively, even violently...

Meanwhile, since the dawn of time, men who "enthused after women" in the way you described faced none of these same consequences.

So... mystery solved.

Yeah, I think that's BS. It's an ageless trope that justifies middle-aged married men growing a sizable beer belly and wearing out-of-style ill-fitting clothes, while their wives go to yoga twice a week, get monthly mani-pedis and almost always wear makeup.

That said, it is true that women have focused less on physical appearance when courting a mate but that is only because they needed to chose a man who will be a reliable primary breadwinner. ..But now that women are closing the income gap, you can bet they will be as choosy as men when it comes to physical attractiveness. ..And who can blame them?
