Could long pending and upload times be resolved by an AI Moderator?

Maybe it's just because I'm more used to Fanfiction.net where the uploads are instant, but my story has been in pending for almost four days now. Look, I get these stories have to have a higher level of scrutiny compared to other sites due to the content, but maybe there's a way to... streamline it? I know us writers see AI as a threat to our creativity and originality and this site has a policy against AI writers, but maybe the site could set up an AI to act as a moderator. Or at least as a filter assistant. I'd imagine that upload times would greatly increase in that scenario. Thoughts?

There is no way AI can do what a human does in this case(or most cases, for that matter). People write plenty of stories that have underage characters in them, ones that aren't involved at all in the sex stuff. An AI would just keep rejecting. I'm sure there are programs involved to scan for potential problem content, but a human would still have to look at it. Four days isn't even that long. Just be patient.
We also believe there is already some filtering assistance. A contest just ended, and that takes priority for Laurel. I understand you're anxious to see your story posted, but Laurel is doing the best she can. She also needs to stagger releases so that one category doesn't end up with 300 new stories on the same day. Give it another week, and if it doesn't get a posting date, send Laurel a polite message.

When people stopped looking up at the stars and started looking down at their phones.
Meh, I don't think it's about phones. People sucked at looking at stars even prior to the smartphone age. It's just the dreamers to materialists ratio that's all fucked up. 🫤

Thinking is hard, and requires energy. Reacting takes less energy and draws more attention. That's why people are so eager to let someone else do their thinking for them.

I suspect the site already uses word bots of various sorts to screen stories even before human eyes scan the content. Key word finders, grammar checks, that kind of thing.

Over the years, from the regular, "My story has just been rejected," threads, I get the feeling that first pass rejections are automated, bolting on a standard response for whatever the rejection reason is. People occasionally report multiple rejections for two or three reasons, usually starting with technical issues then moving on to content.

The site appears to already have an AI "assistant" as part of the moderation process, used to identify stories written with the aid of AI.

I expect expanding this to cover other aspects of moderation would be equally successful, popular, and uncontroversial.

The lack of understanding of LLMs seems to have become part of the human condition. No doubt inculcated by misleading product marketing by tech broligarchs who want to make the next billion.
