Texas Flood

From what I'm reading that's exactly what's happening shit for brains.
You stupid old dirtbag.

Which stupid fucking MAGAtard line will you be parroting today? That the news media has made up this disaster to make Orange Fatman look bad? Or that nefarious scientists created this disaster by controlling the weather?

Has anyone gotten ahold of Ted Cruz ugly wife yet.
Hey LLCox, Ted Cruz is more than fair game, but I urge you to leave his wife Heidi out of this.

She is a very unstable mentally ill person....seriously (the obvious snark is "she has to be she married Ted", right?).

She has been found on several occasions in a near catatonic state publicly here in Houston and taken for involuntary medical hold to psychiatric facilities The first time was when she was found pulled over on a busy interstate entrance ramp simply staring straight ahead and unresponsive.

Authorities (who did not know who she was at the time) thought she might be on drugs or had been drinking, turns out she'd forgotten to take her medications that day and this was the result.

I have zero sympathy for Ted Cruz. I do, however, have sympathy for his wife. (Remember when Ted went to Cancun ahead of Hurricane Harvey? He left Heidi behind to tend the dogs).

Preach it, Bro!

Neither, weather happens. It floods in Texas with regularity. Timely warnings were issued.

The only reason this is political is because that's what you and the peanut gallery want to make it.

Noem went to Texas to console victims who were affected by the recent floods there. The death toll is passing 40, CNN reported. She said they would get all the federal assistance they need.

The governor said the same.

Ironically, they sounded sane and didn't blame Joe Biden.
except they kinda did by saying the equipment wasn't up to the job, hasn't been for a long time, and should have been replaced by earlier administrations (completely ignoring trump's former stint in the W.H) and that trump is making it all better by upgrading and improving (or, as we know it, slashing funding, staffing levels and vital data set collecting satellites) the system.

Didn't read the OP shit for brains?
When 20 kids die at a summer camp due to a weather event that government officials should have warned about, then obviously there is a political aspect to it. Who fucked up? Was it due to policies? What policies need to change to try to minimize the chances that this happens again?

All valid political policy questions.

Ted Cruz has appeared on TV telling everyone that it's not the time to be political, but to do something valuable like send thoughts and prayers. It's our fault for not praying hard enough.

Little Mikey has said that the only thing that works is prayers and it's lucky that he was able to pray so hard.

The Liar said that it's the fault of the people that he had fired for not seeing it coming.

It's a funny old world.

strange you should mention that:

yesterday, as I kept my m-i-l company at church, there was this whole spiel about circumcisions (blame the jews!) but the relevant part I was surprised (shouldn't have been) to hear was that whole 'Jesus/God only hears and acts through our prayers.' Talk about excusing the lack of intervention by the 'all powerful' to save humans by blaming imperfect humanity for not praying 'loud' enough. Give me a fucking break. Why oh why do people still wrap this cloak of religious nonsense about themselves? Prayers don't save people, actions do!

I recall something relevant about hypocrites praying out loud.

President Donald J. Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for Texas

Release Date:
July 6, 2025
WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Texas to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds and flooding from July 2, 2025, and continuing.
The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Kerr County. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals recover from the effects of the disaster.
Federal funding is also available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms, straight-line winds and flooding in Kerr County.
Benjamin Abbott has been named the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected areas. Additional designations may be made at a later date if warranted by the results of damage assessments.
Individuals who sustained losses in the designated areas should first file claims with their insurance providers and then apply for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-3362 or by using the FEMA App. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, provide FEMA the number for that service.

He promised to dismantle FEMA. Another broken promise. 😐

🙄

Um, yeah, I felt compelled to start this thread AFTER seeing the local MAGAt authorities in Kerr county Texas on T.V. attempting to throw the NWS employees under the bus by accusing them of not giving adequate warning.

That ^ obviously compelled me to mention DonOld & DOGE cutting the NWS, which resulted in some KEY positions being VACANT at the time of the flood (See:!Post #72 in this thread).

😑

Hope that ^ helps.

Within hours of the deluge early Friday, some Texas officials were critical of the NWS, saying forecasts underestimated the rainfall. Sunday, President Donald Trump rejected the idea of investigating whether NWS cuts had left key vacancies, and the White House saidclaims that NWS cuts had anything to do with the tragedy were “disgusting.”

Independent meteorologists and a former NWS official said warnings issued in the run-up to the flooding were about as timely and accurate as could be expected with the weather data available in real time. Predicting extreme rain and flash flooding beyond several hours is challenging, they said, and it is also not easy to ensure urgent warnings reach those most at risk.

“The forecasting was good. The warnings were good. It’s always about getting people to receive the message,” said Chris Vagasky, a meteorologist based in Wisconsin. “It appears that is one of the biggest contributors — that last mile.”
