Michael Madsen passed away today at age 67 of cardiac arrest. He was known as a prolific “tough guy” actor who starred in many films directed by Quentin Tarantino. I remember him also from the late ‘90s tv show Vengeance Unlimited and the Dishonored video game series (he voiced the troubled villain Daud). Madsen was also a talented photographer and a published poet.

One of my favorite actors. I think I was 11 years old when I watched Vengeance Unlimited and to this day I think it was one of the best network shows of all time. I remember reading where many fans were demanding more seasons. It was said that the show was too violent for network TV. And I still search for the 16 episodes that were made to be reproduced on DVD or a streaming channel. RIP sir…

I knew hm from a number of big name movies (Tarantino and Species mostly). Looking at his imdm page, I had not realized how many movies he made (many yeats in double digits). And how many terrible movies he made. He had five movies 2012 alone rated in the 2's (out of 10). But he definitely had his gems.

His sister, Virginia, posted a very moving tribute to him this morning on Facebook.

I hate to hear that. I always thought he had the super hot asshole thing nailed.

He was in a western series i liked as a kid on TV, and in a few movies in the 80s and 90s but never really broke out and was shunned to b-movie hell. Never quite achieved the level of fame in Hollywood as some of his other siblings like Alec or William or even Daniel to an extent. Then again never shot anyone on set that im aware of, so he's one up there
