The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

It was good to spend some time with the large poodles, and Daisy the huge Lab girl, and Fred the (former) barn cat. Fred bit me and clawed me. Goats are good, chickens are good, ducks are good, outside cats are good. This pair isn't very social. No matter. Machines are put away. Packing has kinda commenced.

Dipshits have fireworks. Poodles great and small aren't fans.

I'm hit the rack then . . . .
Fireworks were insane here!

I missed getting on yesterday so late Happy 4th of July, everyone! Mine was a busy one! I was invited to two parties. Attended one, popped in to the other for a bit. Conveniently they were next door to each other and across the street from me!

At sunset, took the boat out with friends to take a short cruise and then watch the fireworks. My friend had a visitor from Ireland. She was very interested in our lake custom of cramming as many boats of all sizes onto the lake to watch fireworks! Actually, it is pretty magical to see them exploding over you and the water!

The boat you see with the blue light on it? Yeah, that's a sheriff boat. They usually have 3 on the lake for this show. Half the people in boats are drunk.

After the show, it was an interesting dance getting back to the dock. But our trusty docking crew was there to lend a hand. I'm pretty chuffed to say I nailed the approach!

When I got home about midnight, people in my neighborhood were still blowing off fireworks! Flashbangs and mortars! I had put my dog in her crate in my closet with a stinky t-shirt of mine then covered her crate with my heavy bathrobe and a heavy blanket to try to muffle the blasts. I ended up leaving her there until 0200 because of the noise.

I woke up early to a text from my friend that my boat's aft end had come loose from it's mooring. So, I went down there to retie it securely.

Another party today. More fireworks!
This girl is tired! We will continue to have fireworks for the next week or so. 🎇✨🎆

Morning all. Hope everyone is well.

Had a couples dinner w an old friend of mine - he has severe MS, so it was good for him to get out of the house. He looked good and was in good spirits.

Farmwork yesterday. Cleared trails of downed ash trees that also make excellent firewood. I’m doing well on my goal of having four or five additional cords of ash ready for firewood season.

Having a July 6th party this afternoon. Happy 249 Years and two days, America!

Sounds and looks fun. Except for the scared doggie and

Did you get something for pain? Can she take Aleve? The generic name is Naproxen. She can take one every 12 hours. Try for a schedule where the Aleve is given at its own time rather than with the Tylenol. You can do the same with ibuprofen but it can be taken more often.

Ablation typically doesn't cause pain. She may have some incisional pain from the pacer box implantation. Did she get a defibrillator too?
The night after the Ablation her heart rate dropped to 38bpm. So they put in a pure pacemaker the next day. This is what has generated the pain. I’m on the road so don’t know exactly what she’s taking but my DiL is saying Tylenol. I need to get home is the bottom line. They sent me a pic of her wound yesterday 😫. I had no idea…

Was in Vegas for the 4th and I have to say, they know how to put on a fireworks display…don’t know about the professional type on the strip. I’m talking the local bubbas out in the neighborhood! Sounded like an artillery barrage. I finally gave up trying to sleep and just opened the curtains and watched the show. I did get some good pics for the Morning Z though…

Old stuff seen while driving home yesterday:

1968 Chebby pickup
1968 Corvair
1938 Chebby sedan
1940 Ford Tudor sedan
early 50's Chebby one ton truck
1960 Dodge truck
The guy with the lot full of Chebbies has about 8 or more 50YO Chebby trucks including a crew cab
1968 Ford pick-up hot rod
Dealership for tractors with a huge graveyard out back - all sorts and ages of machines.

I like the older square body pickups when they still had 8 ft beds

Family first! I’m sorry to hear that your mom is still in such pain.

I’m sending healing vibes and good thoughts from Jersey…

Love you had a great time... and those are amazing photos from the lake.
Hate how much fireworks negatively impact our precious animals. 😥

🥰 🥰 🥰I am so glad he was able to get out and join you. 🥰 🥰 🥰

🫂 Love and prayers for your mom!! Hope her helpers are keeping in touch with her care team regarding pain. If Tylenol isn't doing the job, then something else is needed - we've covered the whole Chasing Pain scenario. No beuno!!
Just want to wave hello. Got called away and took me some time to get back. Hope all are well and I know you must be behaving yourselves.
Welcome back... hope you are well.
