The most ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel (the Haredi) are such staunch pacifists that for a long time they were exempt from serving in the IDF. They would serve in the ambulance service (Hatzalah) instead.

This has has changed recently with the existential threat that Israel is under. The Haredi serve now, but reluctantly. They're not wide-eyed killers like ultra-orthodox Muslims.
