Wat’s Carbon Water-N-Stuff Thread - Concepts In Iron And Wood!!!

One of my Civil War hero's... and I have 16 Confederate veterans in my ancestry.

He was my father's hero from that conflict, and for good reason.

I kinda suspect that the development of the character Captain John Miller was influenced a bit by Chamberlain.

I need to check behind the store for the ones they tossed for being soft or discolored. They get really cheap that way.

Sharpies I have.

Labels, not as many.

I need some Ex Libris labels for this set of books I bought last month. To paste over the former owner's name.

At least his lettering is quite regular.

In reply to the question, 'What is the best that people can possess, what brings them truest happiness, what is the sweetest of the sweet, and what is the pleasantest life to live?' the Buddha answered:

'Trust is the best that people can possess; following the way brings happiness; truth is the sweetest of the sweet; and the practice of insight is the pleasantest way to live.'

-Sutta Nipata

The spiritual path is like climbing a mountain: we don't really know what we will find at the summit. We have only heard that it is beautiful, everybody is happy there, the view is magnificent and the air unpolluted. If we have a guide who has already climbed the mountain, he can help us avoid falling into a crevasse, or slipping on loose stones, or getting off the path. The one common antidote for all our hindrances is noble friends and noble conversations, which are health food for the mind.

~ Ayya Khema

If your happiness depends on what somebody else does, I guess you have a problem.

There's no such place as Amerikkka EXCEPT inside your ignorant mind.
Amerikkka is the dark side of America. It's very real and has been greatly inflated through electronic media.

Prior to the internet, Amerikkkans only could meet in somewhat isolated venues, using white hoods to conceal their identities when taking violent actions. Now they meet en masse on various websites, concealing their identities with user names but egging each other into violent actions with their messages of greed, gluttony, and grievance.

That's really what the G stands for in MAGA.

I went through training with Rangers and SoF. It’s a different mindset and culture, even under the banner of US Army. Huge respect for both, as it’s really two separate missions, but the Green Berets…yeah, another level. Delta I only had one interaction over about a two week period. They were another level also. Seals I can’t really speak to…the couple I knew were Grade A A-holes….or came across that way.

We just call them Radicalized democrats nowadays. They “hide” in plain sight. Easy to spot once you know their camouflage…
