The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Darn it! It's always something!
Right? I have a giant bag of peppermint - not the right flavor for this dish but great cuppa tea.
But the spearmint I have left? Not up to my standards. Dried out too much.
Think I'll like this AI-tweaked version though.
And I get a whole cookout full of people as my guinea pigs
🤫 shhh - don't let them know 😂

Ok - off to the kitchen and then (please, please, please) bed :LOL:
Sweet Dreams, all

What is your employer's position on AI?
Mine is all-in and recommended staff use it for performance reviews and other tasks. Just be mindful not to use any names or sensitive data.
So I used it to improve upon my initial drafts.
Took me less time this year compared to others.
I wish AI was available when I was working! We were supposed to have SMART goals and be evaluated on them. Reviews were a PITA to write! 😤

What’s day.

Had to water the garden at home and the garden and feed the neighbors crazy cats.

I ended up being late for work. I figured I would take my 8am call from the car, but my Teams app wouldn’t work right so I was late to the meeting.

Then I found out I forgot to invite a critical person for the meeting.

The. I had blocked some time before I had to produce a big webinar. But I forgot about a key stakeholder meeting.

All
Kinds of IMs “where are you?” “Will you make the meeting. Fuckin missed the whole meeting.

At least the webinar went well but attendance was for shit.

Everything else went ok, but my attitude was for shit the rest of the day.

I shoulda mowed the farm and/or the property we manage tonite.

Ate life cereal instead.
I hate days like this! Those are just stay-home days! 😆🫂

Good morning early risers and dinners. The weather has been hot, steamy and stormy. There has been flooding and wind damage already around me but more to come.

Lilli- it’s good to see you on the thread.

@JedNtheMtns - remember to read post 1 as it has the rules. In summary, be respectful, no political or religious posts, read people’s profiles and no hitting on folks here. There are other forums for that.
I hope you haven't had any damage from the storms, B2!

Thanks for the welcome back. I needed to be off all SM for a bit. It's been a complicated week. Now I'm trying to fill my time with projects and yard work.

I did this today! Calla lilies are my favorite flower. I bought some to go in the giant pots by the driveway on Monday. I wanted my helper to help me plant them but I did it myself today. I even lifted the 20 lb sack of dirt! 💪

I did this thing because the nurseperson told me to, and she was very authoritative. She came across as knowing of what she spoke. I weaned myself from the meds almost without noticing. I kinda just forgot to keep resetting the alarm to tooken mah pills.

The trick to Pain Management is to manage it.
Exactly! I'm glad you followed instructions. Us nursepersons can be very bossy! 🤭🤭

I licken it to a race... if the pain is a fast runner dont let it get i front of you... when it is 400 yes behind slow it down with a pain pill...and the expectation to be pain free is not the right one to have.... control pain to make it bearable to allow the body to heal.... and pain will decrease and you will be able to slowly back off the hard stuff

That being said.... I have had surgery and only needed Tylenol and ibuprofen.... I think my pain receptors are wonky

And I HATE the way pain meds make me feel
I'm the same. I rarely take all my prescribed pain medication.

Morning Spoon. Mamma wants to take me out to lunch today. I think she’s getting nervous about her surgery. I don’t let on but I’m nervous about her surgery.

It was hot but dry here yesterday. I did manage to get some repotting done on a couple of trees. Wish it’d cool off about 5 d…that’d be perfect.

Everyone get ready…the weekend is about to start!

I love being able to see the "hidden" part of the moon! It looks so surreal! 🌒

Good morning and Happy Friday all. If you are located Mid-Atlantic or eastern seaboard, hopefully you are a recipient of the cooler weather this morning. What a great thing to wake up to. No rain like I hoped, but better than no rain and 100 degrees.

You all be safe out there today and this weekend. I'm going to be spending some time on the boat with my daughter and drinking cold adult beverages on the shore.
Have fun!

Stunningly beautiful!!!

I'm glad her recovery has been good. She will need to concentrate on her exercises when she gets home. 🫂
Thank you so much!
I discussed that with her, in addition to sharing your sage advice and wisdom, regarding her PT.
She said to tell you "Thank you!"
She also wanted me to ask if you had any experience with "stem cell" regenerative joint repair.

Cucumber Feta Bean Salad

* 2 English cucumbers - round slices then quartered
* 1 can garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas)
* 1 can kidney beans
* 1 can black beans
* 8-12 ounces Feta cheese
* 2 cups frozen sweet corn - fresh if in season
* Cracked black pepper - to taste
* Juice of 1 lemon
* Garlic 2-3 cloves, minced
* @ 1/3 cup olive oil (add half, reserve the rest)
* 2 tbs dried spearmint (for fresh, use about half, let sit, add more later if needed. fresh is a lot stronger - esp. over time)

This recipe has no added salt. For me, the Feta cheese has enough salt to carry the salad.

Mix everything and chill for 1 hour minimum
Mix again, taste and adjust seasoning if needed

I used the beans I had on hand. If they're in my cupboard, I like them. Use whichever ones you like.

I would suggest using less oil at the start & letting everything chill together for a couple hours in the fridge. Then mix, taste, and tweak if needed.

I cut the feta into bite sized cubes

I cut the cukes into 1/2 inch thick rounds then quartered those. I left the skin on b/c I think the skin of the English cubes is less bitter. I also use the English ones since they have fewer seeds. Use the cukes you like & cut them how you like.
This looks like a yummy recipe! Thanks, Likes! 😋

I don't. But I do know that stem cells grow into whatever they're needed based on where they're planted. If her dr is recommending this, I would say to go for it. There is very little down side. 🫂🫂
