Neighbor kid? Boy? Weeding? On hands and knees?

No v-necks for you, missy, or he'll never get anything done.

🤣 :nana:
I don't weed on hands and knees. I do the "bend and snap!" 🤣🤣

He's just a baby boy! Just 16, I think. He's a good kid and a really good worker. He was supposed to help me today but managed to chop a small hole in his leg while working at the park. I had him come over to see if I could steri-strip it together for him but it looked to me like he needed a couple of stitches.

One last thing, I found the hystersister website very handy, they have a section for various reason for surgery and they will send progress emails for your type as to what to expect as you go along. There is also a forum to chat. Also ice, learn to love ice. If you do 20 mins every hour for 6 hrs , you get fairly numb, I actually slept with ice after I pulled the stitch, Youre not supposed to do this but I did ok, I put a wash cloth between me and the ice so it froze slower. The only pain killer I took was hydromorphone because it was that or fentanyl. Best advice I got was don’t let the pain build up because then it takes more meds to get it down, grim and bearing it doesn’t get you better any faster and probably slows you down.
i didn’t get addicted even after several weeks of 2 tablets 4x day, and had no problem going off. I just needed it less and less until I didn’t, pain seems to eat meds. Tramodal is a joke.
This is all good advice, Noor! I always told my patients to medicate when the oain is on the way up. If you catch it when it's at a 6, it's MUCH easier and better for you than trying to medicate when you're at 11.

Studies have shown using pain medication appropriately in the short term is very unlikely to result in addiction.

A long day yesterday getting work done in the garden … I was so tired I slept till 06.30 am this morning. And what a day to be out walking the boys up the hill. So calm and still with the riptide up and the river full. I am so blessed to look out on this every day. And then away to the hills later to fish in my happy place!
Beautiful picture, G! 😍

Good morning early risers and dinners. The weather has been hot, steamy and stormy. There has been flooding and wind damage already around me but more to come.

Lilli- it’s good to see you on the thread.

@JedNtheMtns - remember to read post 1 as it has the rules. In summary, be respectful, no political or religious posts, read people’s profiles and no hitting on folks here. There are other forums for that.

I did this thing because the nurseperson told me to, and she was very authoritative. She came across as knowing of what she spoke. I weaned myself from the meds almost without noticing. I kinda just forgot to keep resetting the alarm to tooken mah pills.

The trick to Pain Management is to manage it.

What’s day.

Had to water the garden at home and the garden and feed the neighbors crazy cats.

I ended up being late for work. I figured I would take my 8am call from the car, but my Teams app wouldn’t work right so I was late to the meeting.

Then I found out I forgot to invite a critical person for the meeting.

The. I had blocked some time before I had to produce a big webinar. But I forgot about a key stakeholder meeting.

All
Kinds of IMs “where are you?” “Will you make the meeting. Fuckin missed the whole meeting.

At least the webinar went well but attendance was for shit.

Everything else went ok, but my attitude was for shit the rest of the day.

I shoulda mowed the farm and/or the property we manage tonite.

Ate life cereal instead.
When my nephew Matt was little for a whole year all he ate was life cereal.... he survived and is 6'5" and 250 lbs.... it didnt stunt his growth either

I licken it to a race... if the pain is a fast runner dont let it get i front of you... when it is 400 yes behind slow it down with a pain pill...and the expectation to be pain free is not the right one to have.... control pain to make it bearable to allow the body to heal.... and pain will decrease and you will be able to slowly back off the hard stuff

That being said.... I have had surgery and only needed Tylenol and ibuprofen.... I think my pain receptors are wonky

And I HATE the way pain meds make me feel
