I'd help some family members and friends. Not extravagantly, but enough to ease their life, to take money worries away. My best friend had plans for buying her grandma's house after her death, but aunts weren't willing to give any discount so it didn't happen. I'd give her the opportunity to finally have her own house on the countryside. She wouldn't need a million for that, 200k would do more than fine and even be enough to do stuff that would allows her to make a living.I also like the idea of picking random poor people and anonymously gifting them a million dollars. Surprise!
My shower is large and open with two heads. A part of the shower area (tile underneath) is a large stand-alone tub with jacuzzi jets.A Guinea pig with a big c&c cage. I nice big apartment to put it in with central air and heat, that I control on the first floor or with an elevator. And a balcony or a deck, across the street from a beautiful park with the kitchen that has room for all my gadgets..
That’s what I’m dreaming about tonight. Oh and the shower the shower would always have good water pressure and hot water if I wanted it make that a walk-in shower and a bathtub a soaking tub.
Does your shower and bath reside in Minnesota by any chance? My shower is large and open with two heads. A part of the shower area (tile underneath) is a large stand-alone tub with jacuzzi jets.
Southern California. Come over and you can also walk to the beach.Does your shower and bath reside in Minnesota by any chance?
Thank you!Southern California. Come over and you can also walk to the beach.
Sounds like he was in top 1%......not that it mattersMy ex-husband would be classified as a top 5%-er. He had money, lots. It's kind of true, it doesn't buy happiness, but it does get you boredom, which is pretty close. Vacations whenever, where ever. 2 private jets. Car collection. Houses. Staff. PA's. The works. I truly had a want of nothing. The 1 thing I was passionate about was making sure donations went where it was supposed to go. The amount of "charities" that just flat out ripped off the "whale" donors was eye opening. If I could do it all over again, I'd just move to like Denmark or something.
HA! I remember the burritos used to cost around eight dollars. I went off to live on the West Coast, where there was no Chipotle, came back to New Jersey three years later and now they’re $14. WTF?I would add guacamole to my burritos at Chipotle! (For those who don’t know, it currently costs 2.95 to add guacamole to an entree at Chipotle.)
Anything I want. So, this question was posed by a friend as we spent a lazy day by the lake. Here's the rules:
1. This is about you. Assume you have already used your wealth to donate to charity/solve world hunger/etc.
2. Venture beyond stereotypical things. Assume you already have all the typical luxuries of the ultra-wealthy, e.g. private plane, yacht, private island, cleaning crew, butler, private chef, etc.
3. Make it fun. Think "I-only-drink-bottled-water-harvested-from-the-polar-ice-caps" kind of indulgent.
Some fun answers were:
- New socks, everyday, for the rest of my life (she loves the feeling of new socks)
- Fly in the worlds most renowned person to teach me any skill I want to learn (e.g. hiring Chuck Norris to teach you karate or Neil Degrass Tyson to teach you astrophysics)
- A personal dental hygienist for professional cleanings any time (he loved that fresh feeling)
Too many deer? Cmon now.I'm mostly not for the extravagant kind of living, but I guess some of this would seem such.
A housekeeper would be among the first things to get. It would probably mean the most to my daily life - and I wouldn't be able to handle the rest without help. I'd really need a manager for everything.
I'd get a nice property which would become (almost) self-sustaining. It would include a conservatory big enough to have exotic fruit trees and bushes. Even outdoors there would be all kinds of edible plants that are uncommon here. There would probably be enough to feed my workers too. And it would be within city limits. It's very well possible here. Use of cars could be limited.
I'm not vegan. I'd eat game (there are too many whitetails around anyway, it's a foreign species here) and then of course I'd have chickens and other poultry grown, going around old-fashioned in the garden. And plenty of fish.
I'd have all my clothes and accessories made to measure. Shoes definitely included. That's the only way to get really fitting clothes and something that isn't in fashion (cause screw the fashion). I'd probably actually have plenty of historical style clothes, or then I'd combine historical and more modern elements.
