The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

Today I found out, thanks to one of those @everyone posts from a Greek record ? Company that I’ve never heard of, that a friend died about 5 yrs ago.
I lost touch with a lot of people during the pandemic, and though sone have died, most eventually were back in touch even 3 who had been in coma and on vents while ill with covid.
It’s weird there is still a sense of suspended animation of parts of life.
Now I wonder how many friends I will lose over the Middle East wars, either by death or politics. I also wonder if I will ever trust the ones who out right supported terrorist groups.
In Minnesota you can also mark time by the riots, before and after.
It’s like we live in a different world.

just for something different, I made corn dogs for H

the first two were something different, since the batter slipped most the way off, but the rest actually resemble proper corn dogs as I got the oil a little hotter and turned them on their skewers when they first went in till the batter set enough to leave 'em be. Recipe has a horrendous 3 tablespoons of sugar in it, but with the cayenne and black pepper the sweetness was only just there.

Fuck people. Its just not worth the effort anymore to engage them.
Also as I get older my shopping energy is becoming shorter and shorter.
I think im down to like 3 hours max and then I want to go home and not look at another human being. If I make it to old age its gonna be a riot

Never been a fan of people but since COVID lockdowns I'm even less tolerant. I enjoyed it far too much to be honest.

I mainly shop online these days

I enjoy the hunt for my toys. But when im on my own I can be in and out fast ( yes I know) .
Luckily, i married a woman with my shopping tolerance. Make a list, split it up and hit the door running. Meet back at the registers, each one buys the cart they have (at different registers if possible) and get the fuck out. By this point, we are a well oiled machine. In and out in less than 20 minutes, typically. She is the list maker, i am the logistics manager and we split the lists depending on efficiency, speed and are unlikely to cross into the other persons zone.

Antique stores are a whole different manner. There, we browse. Four eyes are better than two. We've been able to find some pretty cool, antiquey things. We have similar tastes in that regard.
