Endless Ends

In the last few days:

-girded big girl loins
-emotional meltdown
-frantic agricultural deadline
-saved from agricultural tax crises
-EPIC emotional breakthrough
-significant change in a relationship

Bit of a roller coaster but I am in a surprisingly good mood. So much so, that I bought myself a new card case.

Okay. Two card cases.

Okay. And a casual purse. 🤣

Like business card cases? Or more like…Magic the Gathering or Pokémon card cases?🤔

Somehow neither of those seem like Enny things 😂

I had no idea there'd been a squabble about who invented calculus between Newton and Liebniz. Complete with a book of letters compiled by Newton, purporting to settle the matter of who came up with the concept first.

Newton even wrote a review.

Of his own book. :p

Here I thought only biological science academics got all petty and full of ego.

The things one learns on the internet.
It’s a huge thing! It may have changed but when I was an undergrad, physicists still used Newton’s notations in a lot of situations even though Leibniz’s are generally clearer and better.

So many ups and downs in one week ? With or without alcohol intake ?

I have my own Magic the Gathering deck, I'll have you know. And, I've bought a couple of Pokemon card cases.

Okay, so I have a deck, but have never actually learned to play. And it is possible the Pokemon card cases were not for me.

Somehow neither of those seem like Enny things 😂
*flips hair*

Like business card cases?
Yes. I like to use one as mini wallet for errands and shopping. Just big enough for driver's license and a few other cards.

My preference is sleek and magnetic closures, though this little number by Kate Spade amused me the other day. I am always mislaying things. This, I would not lose. :p

Pond, contouring, seeding, matting, stapling.

ALL FINISHED

*melts into a puddle*

May I never have to shovel dirt again. Thank goodness for male muscle. I freely admit I would never have managed this on my own.

(See, you fellows are good for something. :p)

It's also possibly I've expired from heat exhaustion and my body/brain has yet to make the connection.

Still the path and some rock work to do, but it may be a bit before I venture back out into the mid-90 + humidity heat.

I am such a delicate flower. 🥀

(Note that rose is wilting from the heat.)

Oh! I thought they said that Leibniz's notations were the ones used, being both clearer and more elegant. Maybe I misheard. I will go back and watch again. 😎

(Imagine. Reviewing your own book. 🤣)

Leibniz’s are more widely used and are way better. But physicists stick with their boy. It’s silly but it was true, at least 30 years ago *sigh*

Oh! Oh!

One of the many weird things purchased since leaving city life for the pastoral. A tamper.

I think this may possibly increase my market value. 🤔

You'd think clarity was important in facilitating the work and elegance would add to the enjoyment.

But what do I know.

Nothing. :p
In their defense, it’s used mostly in kinematics where it’s a bit easier to write and decipher. But I’m still sure it’s mostly stubborn man pride 🤣

Physics, I see.

This is about the point where the conversation goes *whoosh* right over my head. 😝

Oh! Oh!

But another tidbit I recently stumbled across is the coin rotation paradox! Mind blown.

No, Really. 🤯🤯

Definitely one of those things where the math is pretty simple and clear and shows how bad our intuition about some things really is 🤣

I love this one too.

What fascinated me was that depending on the wording of the question there could be three different answers!

-the extra rotation due to moving along the coins circumference.
-the expected rotational set, using the coin's perspective.
-using astronomical revolutions.

Simple math, okay. Crazy stuff to us math challenged souls. :p

The best - or possibly worst - part of this link is second link under See Also that takes you to a page full of paradoxes.

Rabbit Hole. 😬

It seems Popeye has entered public domain.

Naturally there's been a rush to make horror movies.
Naturally I've been wading (or trying) to wade through.
Naturally this has been a somewhat painful endeavor.

-Shiver Me Timbers!
-Popeye the Slayer Man
-Popeye's Revenge.

In my considered opinion, these three movies alone are an argument for forever copywrite.

Why do I do these things to myself? 😂

Things learned within the last ten days (or so):

1) You know how I regularly question how women leave urine on public toilets?

-Well, one way is to take a toddler to the bathroom who insists on standing on the seat so he can pee standing up like the big boys.

2) I am bee averse. 🐝

3) Children are smarter than I.

-As I stumbled for wording simple enough to explain kinetics and the first law of motion to the family nine-year-old - he explained it to me. And his younger brother.

Not disturbing. Not at all. Nope. 🤣

Two hours driving in the unrelenting sun and heat.

*flump*

Clearly the only cure is watching Ice Sharks! 😎

I love this movie.

(The scientists throw themselves about to simulate the building being knocked about. :p)

I swear, I'm going to start spending the summers elsewhere.
