The world is a safer place because Israel takes action and is willing to pay the price that no one else would.

Israel, understandably, sees this issue through a lens of existential threat. That perspective can lead to exaggerating timelines or capabilities. Meanwhile, the IAEA may be the most objective source in theory, but without access to key Iranian facilities, even its assessments are incomplete at best.
At this stage, though, we may be beyond the point of debating whether Iran can build a bomb. We’ve entered a phase more reminiscent of the WMD claims leading into Iraq—assertions that may never be verified unless inspectors are granted full access or Israel forcibly opens the doors.
Right now, the nuclear question has taken a back seat to the conventional war unfolding between Israel and Iran. It’s a shooting war: airstrikes, proxies, and mounting casualties. The real issue is who has the resources—and the political will—to outlast and outmaneuver the other.
Iran has long promised Israel’s destruction and has played the long game with its proxies and asymmetric warfare. But the rules of engagement have changed. With Hamas in tatters, Syria largely sidelined, and the Houthis under U.S. pressure, Israel now seems poised to turn its full attention to Iran.
But here's the catch: Israel’s strategy appears to hinge on unwavering U.S. backing. That’s far from guaranteed. We have a TACO President—thin-skinned, appeasing, cautious, and overcooked by indecision. His hesitancy in Ukraine doesn't bode well for decisiveness here.
So who holds the cards in this escalating conflict? Militarily, the U.S. still does. Politically? Not so much. And without that political leverage, it’s unclear who—if anyone—can stop this from spiraling into something far worse.
