Nude Day 2025 Contest Thread

However - if well done, with big words and fancy stuff like that, long stories score fairly high. (The low voters get bored and drop out early) My longest story posted on Lit is over 129,000 words (Geek pride 2025)
Good to hear! Mine is locked and loaded at around 25K words, some of them quite fancy. I’m pretty sure that’s my longest so far. Now I just need to find out if the words assembled have been correct order the in.

If I have a story about to come out that would fit, but I didn't know about the contest until now and therefore didn't identify it as a contest entry, is it possible to enter it?

I would say no, but it cant hurt to send a very polite DM to @Laurel and @Manu and ask.

It's not posted yet? You should be able to jump back in and modify it, which'll move it to the back of the queue. But that doesn't matter if you put the Nude Contest slug in the Notes field, because contest entries are usually expedited.

Getting started late on mine due to wrapping up other projects, but I'm not worried about the deadline. I have no idea how long it will be.

It will feature Tiafell and his friends from my fantasy story, exploring a forest that only naked people can enter.

I am making a last editing pass now before I submit tomorrow (or maybe Thursday). My first submission to First Time and my second longest single story at 27.5K

I put mine in E&V

Maybe should have gone in EC.

But it's more see and be seen than encounter, so ....
I really struggled with that - I ended up putting mine in Romance because ultimately it was a romance between the two lead characters. But there was a strong E/V element, an extended erotic coupling, a masturbation scene, a lesbian scene and secondary romance, and a Loving Wives sub-plot, so....

One day to go before entries start to be published! With some hesitation, I wanted to raise the topic of how we all support each other during the contest (apart from participating in this forum)? Last year there were 113 published stories (presumably plus audio entries, which are... er... somewhere?) Only three end up on the 'winners' list, so as a first pass, we all have less than 3% chance of winning a big stuffed toy or monetary equivalent. So how do we make sure that we all 'win' out of simply participating? Of the top of my head, I can think of:

- Read as many stories from other authors as possible
- Give honest, positive and constructive feedback
- Take it privately if you feel you need to give brutally honest (but still constructive) feedback
- Vote honestly - do not downvote 'competing' stories - this is not a zero sum game situation
- Help with requests for last minute editors / proofreaders if you can
- Encourage readers of your stories to read other entries - 'grow the pie' by growing the readership

What have I missed? Any disagreement?

Just a few hours now before the first begin to appear.

I noticed that somebody posted one very similar to mine in many ways, but did not include it in the contest.

Remember to have fun.

I've won a few of these, and in no case did I feel my winning stories were any better than any of several others. Given the weird ways in which the votes are cast, counted, and swept, and the secretive way in which the counting "ends?" The winner could very well be determined by a coin toss.

So? No pressure. We write the stories and hope for the best; the rest is out of our control. I'm one of the people who thinks the healthiest way to deal with these contests is to forget they're competitive.

Good luck on everyone's stories!

You can begin submitting on (or before): June 14th
The last day to submit is: July 5th at 11:59pm EST
Winners will be announced on: July 12th

First ones may post soon, but you have a few weeks yet before the deadline.

Also, keep in mind that it can take a few days to be approved, so best not to wait until the last day in case your submission gets sent back for any reason.

Mine's in and marked as published on 6/14. So, any minute now...
I think stories usually go live at 0600 Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). That's 4 pm on the East Coast of Australia, 7 am in London (Summer Time), 2 heures du matin à Montréal, 11 pm the previous day in Los Angeles, and 8 pm in Hawaii. Oh, and 9 am for anybody using a VPN in Riyadh (don't get caught!).

I started with the intention of reading every entry. This morning, I made a start on that commitment.

But, as Graf Helmut von Multke the Elder wrote, "No plan survives contact with the enemy". There are a couple of stories in a category that I won't touch with a bargepole, so I skipped those. There are some stories >20k words that I have postponed until I have more time. I have read and rated stories in categories I don't usually look at.

What is your approach?
