How do you feel about readers wanting to email with you?

I've had a few emails over the years, but I can't respond to them as the email has my name on it. It's a shame, as some of the conversations would have been fun. I even got my first bit of fan mail, which was lovely!

My stories have some specific kinks that only a few people really connect with, I’ve invited readers to reach me on the forum, a few have.. A few have been gushing about their favorite parts and asking if I want to hear about their own experiences.

I’ve received a few reader emails but I’ve never responded to one simply because I want to keep everything Lit on Lit.

I have interacted with readers and some other forum kinksters through private messages and a couple on chat.

I understand if it’s not your thing but I’ve had some fun with fans.🥰

In five years I've had only two e-mail contacts, both okay. First one was basically lambasting me over inconsistent tense in my first LitE story, but it was pleasant enough, and we discovered that we were practically neighbors. He was poly; it generated a couple of exchanges bemoaning the area's vanishing opportunities for late-night adult play.

Second was recent, a fan requesting more frequent development of a character. Two nice exchanges.

There were some mildly bothersome contacts in PM three or four years ago, supposedly from a F who wanted to sext if not hookup. Sketchy as heck, so straight into the dustbin without reply.

Anyone who comments on or favorites one of my stories or favorites me gets a feedback communication that includes my Lit-specific email. I thank them and ask them a question (what made this story worth your action). Anyone who responds gets added to my email list. I sometimes share drafts with them or artwork that inspires or adds to my stories or material I'm not going to publish.

That's pretty much the limit. I'm obviously a straight, white-male so I don't get a lot of sext requests.

I got an email from someone who said she loved my story. Thats all good, but then she started asking me to go to other sites to chat about my story. Very weird. Or she started asking probing questions about how writing those scenes make me feel. As if she wanted to start some sort of roleplay with me, at least thats the impression I got

very rarely received unsolicited email from Lit. Most email feedback for me has been from other authors/acquaintances that I already knew, at least in the limited way you can know someone from the forums or a 20 minute conversation at a book signing.

Like @lovecraft68 (I've always wondered about the 68, btw), I'll answer anyone that reaches out. I've had email conversations with a very few about my stories and a few other things. Anything that even hints at something untoward gets ignored.

And so you know, I will not meet you and my avatar is not me. My fairy wings are much more elaborate and my boobs are a little smaller. 🤭
I just saw this.

The 68 is-sighs-the year I was born.

This is my fault because there's a story behind the name. I first began writing erotica in 2008, first thing was more a scene that a story. My wife and I were, and still are, into role playing, we'd do one every weekend. She was away for work one weekend and I had this great idea and didn't want to lose the characters so on a whim I opened a word doc and wrote this conversation between them, just words. Then I was like hmm and I hgave them physical descriptions somewhat based on my wife and I, then out of nowhere I wrote a sex scene and a little 'aftermath' talk.

Showed it to my wife when she came back, and she said "I love it, what happens next?" My answer was "I don't know." she said "I want to know, get on that."

I wrote another scene, then more and other characters, short stories in a bunch of different kinks. My wife liked reading erotica before I started doing it and found lit end of that year. She told me I should post there that "You won't be any worse than some of what's on there"

I hedged and hedged, and she told me if I did not set up an account she would do it for me, so she did. She knows I'm a big HPL fan and tossed my birthyear at the end to tweak me. I still didn't post any stories, and in 2010, she took the first story I'd written and uploaded it as a "present' because by that time she knew I wanted to, but for whatever reason couldn't pull the trigger.

So, not only is that how the 68 got in my name, but everyone here can be mad at my wife for me being here at all.

That's also not me in the AV, my nose isn't that long, and I have more gray these days.

I just found a handful of Feedback emails from the past several years that I had overlooked. A lot of them are people wanting to email back and forth and tell me their stories. Like "I read your story. Something similar happened to me. Do you want to chat about it?"

A dirty little part of me would love to read their "true" stories. But I also feel wary of connecting with anyone outside of this site. I can't imagine anything serious happening, but I am unsure if I want to open that door. This feels like a classic horny vs common sense battle in my mind, and I just wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone had any thoughts.
I am BAD. I only correspond with woman, who prove they’re real, and want permission to be sluts.

I like getting emails from readers. It doesn't happen much, sadly. I use an email not linked to my real identity, so it's no different from replying to comments, really.

I will occasionally reach out to an author, but far more often I will have an author reach out to me, based upon a comment I have made, maybe just thanking me for the comment. However, in a few cases, there has been a connection, and I have even edited a story for them.
One writer, who I believe has finally passed, and I collaborated on where he wanted to go and how to get there for the last four chapters he published. He published 10 chapters here on Lit, but had actually published the next chapter on Chyoa, when he announced that due to health issues he was temporarily stopped writing. We had planned out the next chapter, and I emailed him several months ago, asking him if I could carry on with the story and his legacy. The email bounced.

The conversations tab in Lit (it looks like an envelope) works quite well and does not require an email. So many things are tied to an email account today (even though I have a specific one for Lit), I would not look forward to switching everything (should the need arise).

I think anonymous/no account older readers would only be able to access the email messaging. If I read a story, I'm not sure how I would access the conversations to message that author, Doesnt seem to be a link between authors and their forum accounts

I’ve received a number of feedback mails in the last few weeks (5 from memory). Most were complimentary about my stories, encouraging me to keep writing, and perfectly polite. One was even another author providing some helpful perspective. I replied to all of them. But I got one today with the sender’s phone number included (yes!) and suggesting we “correspond,” which was 🤢.

I've never been very fond of Kenneth Branagh, except when he played a Nazi plotting the Final Solution. As a Nazi, He seemed right at home to me. As to his mustache, I prefer David Suchet's and his performances. Come to think about it, Peter Ustinov and Albert Finney are better as well.
Have you ever seen Tony Randall's protrayal? Be very afraid...

That's unfortunate. I'm sure he would have appreciated it.

I just received an email from a new author, and he said, based upon my defense of various non-monogamous relationships down in the LW area, he asked if I would read and edit a new story before he published. This kind of stuff makes my day. Someone actually listening.

One guy who has commented on my stories here and on two other sites emailed me.

Also, on another site, I got email from an artist who wants to illustrate my stores. I'd love that, but I can't afford it. My only interaction with her was to tell her that.

Copy their account name, come to the Forums, click on the little envelope and start a new Conversation - paste their account name into the addressee box.

I don't mind. Most are polite in their requests, and understanding when I decline. No problem with them at all. Though one individual didn't take it well. They were offended to learn my avatar pic is an AI image, in particular. That reaction is exactly why I use a pic that is not me, and a pen name. I've received many chat requests. I guess I made the avatar pic too pretty?

Readers are generally just fine, sometimes they reply if I reply to them, sometimes this leads to nice chat.

The emails I get basically going 'hi sexy!' or 'I want to chat with a hot bi babe' (so do I sweetheart, but you're making it all about you) - just delete.
(basically same as Millie only with wanting a submissive rather than black babe...)

The ones who have read my profile and then email wanting to talk about kinky sex with hot bi babes - can go either way, but usually the latter. I find if I ask what they think of a relevant story of mine, they either lead to a bit of half-decent conversation, or they vanish, so that's my default response now.
This bit right here: " 'I want to chat with a hot bi babe' (so do I sweetheart, but you're making it all about you) " I busted a gut when I read that! I was also drinking coffee. Now I have to clean the monitor. I love your reply!

ON fanfiction.net there are swarms of those 'artists' offering commissions. Feels like a scam. They claim to be a big fan of your stories, but when quesioned it's obvious they never read anything
